Pakistani delegation visits Mohammad Bin Rashid School of Government
Visit aimed at acquiring insights into best practices in the public sector
Mohammad Bin Rashid School of Government (MBRSG) hosted a delegation of government officials from Pakistan’s National Management College (NMC) today. The 21-member delegation of public service professionals from NMC’s Senior Management Programme visited the UAE as part of a three-day tour to acquire insights into best practices in the public sector.
“Dubai’s achievements have been the result of leveraging local knowledge as well as expertise from around the world towards developing a model of governance,” said Lieutenant Abdullah Mohammad Abdullah of Dubai Police during his presentation at the event. Lt Abdullah also highlighted the importance of sharing and transferring the success of Dubai’s government with governments of other countries. The delegation said their visit was valuable as they were given the opportunity to meet and learn from some of the Dubai public sector’s professionals.

The Mohammed bin Rashid School of Government (DSG previously) is a research and teaching institution focusing on public policy in the Arab world. Established in 2005 under the patronage of HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai, MBRSG aims to promote good governance through enhancing the region’s capacity for effective public policy.
Toward this goal, the Mohammed bin Rashid School of Government also collaborates with regional and global institutions in its research and training programs. In addition, the School organizes policy forums and international conferences to facilitate the exchange of ideas and promote critical debate on public policy in the Arab world.
The School is committed to the creation of knowledge, the dissemination of best practice and the training of policy makers in the Arab world. To achieve this mission, the School is developing strong capabilities to support research and teaching programs including

Executive Education: Over 1500 high level private and public officials from throughout the region have attended MBRSG executive education courses since they began in 2006. Some courses are delivered in cooperation with Harvard Kennedy School (HKS). Customized courses delivered to institutions include the Dubai Water and Electricity Authority (DEWA), the Mohammed bin Rashid Programme for Leadership Development, the Sheikh Khalifa Government Excellence Program, the Government of Iraq, Etisalat, the Central Bank of the UAE, Dubai Courts, and the Media Leadership Program.
Master Program: The school Master of Public Administration (MPA) is an intensive, multidisciplinary program which empowers aspiring leaders from across the Arab world to successfully address the challenges and maximize the opportunities they face as public sector professionals.

To date, more than 2,000 high-level private and public officials from over 200 organizations throughout the region have attended our executive education programs since their roll-out in 2005. The school's faculty, researchers and non-resident scholars have also laid the foundation for studies on issues such as public administration and governance, gender and public policy, international relations, as well as economic and community development.
