Peshawar High Court not only rejected Pervez Musharraf appeal against election tribunal’s decision to reject his election papers, it went a step ahead and slapped a life time ban on him from taking part in politics. This is an interesting judicial development which smacks of vendetta as the appellant had only asked for overturning the decision of the tribunal. The bench was headed by the CJ of Peshawar Court himself. The Court ruled that since Musharraf had abrogated the Constitution twice, he could not be allowed to contest elections for either the National Assembly or the Senate. Though a fully charged apex court had termed his Emergency Proclamation of November 3, 2007 as abrogation of the Constitution, the federal government has yet to charge him. Under the law, it is the federal government and not the court to pursue such charges.
For Musharraf, seeking any relief from the angry courts, has now become impossible.
The Emergency of 2007 was proclaimed on the request of the government in which Constitution was not abrogated. It only resulted in sacking some of the over-zealous judges. The judges who were restored after a street agitation, are now out to teach him a lesson.
The outcome of his other court cases was no different.
Pakistan’s history is replete with military coups which were made successful only with connivance of obliging judges.

Decisions of a High Court can be appealed in the Supreme Court, which is the last resort by law.

moroon sitting in PHC is showing utter stupidity. Musharraf has not been convicted of any crime. He is accused of abrogating the piece of paper written by illiterate and fake degree holder thugs and of confining these dogs to their homes for a few months. All those actions were done by Govt of that time which includes dozens if not hundreds of people.

Legally, they cannot disqualify him as there is no other charge on him nor he has been even accused of corruption.

Similarly like NS or Zardari are accused of corruption but they have not been convicted. so they are enjoying/going to enjoy the impunity to plunder these sheeple.

With this, the ball is now in the court of moroons inside the SC. But I do not have high hopes on them too.

The power in this Country belongs to thugs and to those who can demonstrate plausible thuggish behavior and are good at robbing. to which obviously Musharraf is no way near to and he doesn't has much money to feed to Bar counsels so that they can bark and scuffle in favour of Musharraf. Someone who believes in personal character, integrity, patriotism, honesty and sincerity has no place here.

Poor Musharraf, I am sorry for you. I hope you can get out alive and in one piece from this hell-hole. Leave this nation at the merci of Sharifs, Zardaris, Gilanis, Rajas, Chaudrys and their upcoming generations and the saviors sitting in tribals areas, it deserves them.

Using such contemptuous language for the Constitution, or the judges, or the country, is totally unnecessary and counter-productive, Sir.

if he had broke the ''constitution'' twice then the appointment of these judges n sake of 90 judges during Iftikhar Chaughary's return by Bar n establishing of these judges was even bigger unconstitutional as in constitution is written that a bar bench cant do that!!!!!!!!

This makes this entire judiciary unconstitutional hence their decision dont hold validity.

mind yr business.

I don't like Musharaf but it seems what he did with these judges was right and they deserved it.
