Pakistan will not handover Imran Farooq murder suspects to UK govt: Nisar

Published: April 15, 2015

Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar said on Wednesday that Pakistan would cooperate as much as it could with the United Kingdom in Dr Imran Farooq’s murder case.

“We will coordinate and cooperate with Britain as much as we can,” Nisar said, briefing the media regarding his meeting with British High Commissioner Philip Barton on Tuesday.

However, the interior minister said the government would not handover any suspect to the UK government. “As far as handing over a suspect to Britain is concerned, I clarified to the high commissioner that we don’t not have an extradition treaty with them,” he said.

Further, he also clarified that his meeting with Barton was “pre-planned” and “purely coincidental” that it fell on a day when the MQM chief’s bail expired.

“My meeting was not related to Altaf Hussain’s detention.”

“It was reported I briefed him. However, I did not brief him nor will I brief any other ambassador.”

“I did not provide him any documents as that are beyond the scope of my duties,” he added.

Further, Nisar said he discussed multiple matters with Barton, including Altaf’s money laundering case.

Responding to a question whether the suspect arrested in Karachi for alleged involvement in Dr Imran Farooq’s murder, Nisar said, “I never said he was the prime suspect, I said he was the central character.”

“Moazzam Ali played a key role in facilitating the murder, securing a UK visa is not easy and he arranged it for the two suspected killers of the MQM leader,” Nisar further said.

why not? Deal between PMLN and MQM ?
Lol

They want deal with UK. UK exchanges some prisoners with Pakistan, which Pakistan wants. Pakistan gives them the prisoners they want.

Maybe they will like to exchange altaf with this man lol.

Anyway, Pakistan cannot suddenly hand over arrested suspect. They'll interrogate him first before handing him over to UK. He's in custody for maximum 90 days, so plenty of time.

.
I like style of Ch. Nisar. He is assertive when it comes to other countries pushing around Pakistan. In the absence of extradition treaty, there is no reason we should hand over someone to UK. They are no longer our colonial masters and their international position is much weakened now. Besides UK provides shelter to corrupts and fugitives from all over the world in order to boost their sick economy and gain diplomatic leverage on those countries. They will not sign any such treaty because then people with black money will stop running towards UK. Hence no obligation for Pakistan to hand over the guy to UK.

.
How about UK bans Hizb ut Tahrir first? Gen Raheel Sharif visited UK solely for this purpose and yet not action by them.

MQM terrorists and criminals who were charged and convicted in Major Kaleem case were Altaf Hussain, Saleem Shahzad, Dr Imran Farooq with Rs 50 Laks head money, Aftab Ahmed, Ashfaq Chief, Javed Kazmi and Haji Jalal. The rest are Yousuf, Nadeem Ayubi, Ayub Shah, Ismail alias Sitara is town nazim in Karachi, Ashraf Zaidi in USA, Sajid Azad, Asghar Chacha Rehan Zaidi and Safdar Baqri.

In view of the changes in Pakistan´s political setup after removal of Nawaz Sharif in 1999 and General Musharraf taking power, MQM got the opportunity to find its way into mainstream national politics bacause of General Musharraf who offered lucrative cooperation to MQM in exchange of MQM´s support. ALTAF HUSSAIN accepted the offer of General Musharraf and decided to become part of Musharraf-sponsored coaltion government along with MUSLIM LEAGUE (Q).

Dr. Imran Farooq never wanted MQM to become yet another conventional political party doing power politics. Dr. Imran Farooq had wanted JINNHAPUR as per the original manifesto of MQM but ALTAF HUSSAIN was having different plans.

Dr Imran Farooq openly opposed this new policy of ALTAF HUSSAIN and was threrefore removed from MQM´s main advisory council. He became a threat for ALTAF HUSSAIN and paid the price.

The NEW SCOTLAND YARD UK must also involve officials of MQM stationed at MQM´s headquarters in London in the investigation of his murder. In particular, Saleem Shahzad must be thoroughly interrogated about the said murder for the sole reason that Saleem Shahzad is known for his specialization in such type of murders. Saleem Shahzad has a track record of several murders in Pakistan.

The Scotland Yard investigation into the murder in London of the leading Pakistani politician Dr Imran Farooq has been told that rows within his own party may have led to his assassination.

Farooq, 50, was stabbed to death earlier this monthduring an attack in which he was also beaten near his home in Edgware, north London. Farooq was a senior figure in Pakistan's MQM (Muttahida Quami Movement) party, and was in exile in London at the time of his death. The murder is being investigated by Scotland Yard's counter-terrorism branch because of the political dimension to the killing.

Sources say intelligence suggests his death was linked to rows within the MQM.

Farooq, once prominent in MQM, had taken a back seat. A senior Pakistani source said he may have been about to endorse or join a new party set up by Pakistan's former military ruler, General Pervez Musharraf. The source said of the motive: "It lies within the MQM. Dr Farooq was probably going to join Musharraf."He is vowing to leave his own London exile and return home to launch a fresh bid for power. His new party, the All Pakistan Muslim League, will launch its programme in London later this week.

Asked by the Sunday Telegraph about his reaction to Farooq's murder, Musharraf said: "It is terrible that such an assassination could happen in a place like London."

Farooq, who was married with two young sons, claimed UK asylum in 1999 alongside Altaf Hussain, the MQM's leader. Hussain, who also lives in exile in London, has said "enemies of the MQM" killed Farooq and they will try to kill him.

Pakistan's media reported him as saying on Friday: "Now the enemies of the movement are after my life, but I want to tell them I am not afraid of anyone, whether it's a superpower like the United States or its Nato allies or their Pakistani agents … I fear the Almighty Allah and will never bow down before the conspirators even if they get my British citizenship rescinded."

Why doesn't Mr. Bean bring before media or courts to 2 killers....???

What's the mystery :undecided:
Maybe one of them is dead ?
Or even they make it open. Then UK may demand them in their custody ?
Then these suspects can change their statment in any UK court ,they can tell a different story in that regurd ,& some of angels would be asked to appear in British courts ?
