I don't understand what you are trying to say. What exactly is "Real Bengal"?

I'd argue that being a Bengali Hindu is being more true to your roots since Islam came much later and is therfore "foreign".

These things are completely subjective and open to interpretation based on what you personally consider as "Real Bengali".

Dear I think u became very upset. Well just answer that whom do u think really represent Bengal e.g. WB or Bangladesh? Just in one sentence.

. .
There is no such thing as the "true representative of Bengal".

Well if u consider the international teritory or boundary then u have to admit that in world map and in world statistics there is only a country which represents for Bengal regarding language, culture, materialistic thing and so on i.e. Bangladesh not WB as its the part of India.

One doesn't need a separate country to propagate a culture or language.

Rather than declining, Bengali culture has flourished in India....as have all other cultures collectively identified as Indian.

Such ideas are, as I said, antiquated and completely out of sync with the modern world. They smack of xenophobia and supremacist thinking.

But u cant deny as well the facts that I depicted.

I still don't understand what facts you are trying to 'depict'.

Bangladesh has its own culture and history....great....good for you.

But don't claim that you are the true guardians of everything that is Bengali under the sun. Its just not true and cannot be backed up with facts.

.
I think I understand what you are trying to say here.

The Bangladeshi freedom struggle was in part based on the fact that Bengalis were being forced to speak Urdu.

Unlike Pakistan, India decided that imposing a single language on the country wasn't going to help matters. It was one of the early lessons that we learnt as a nation - people are proud of their culture and don't like it when they are treated as imperial subjects.

Dear Salim,

I do agree with all your points except the last one. I find it difficult to agree to your last one.

If you are talking in your personal capacity than ok however if you consider GOI actions than I don't agree with you.

Hope you agree.

To be precise, the GoI can do what it wants, but it cannot prevent me from being a Bengali and neither will they do!

First thing:
In crating history this portion of Bengal i.e. now Bangladesh has played key role rather WB

Second thing:
Can Indian Bengalies enjoy the taste of real Bengal within India that we Bangladeshi can in our sovereign Bangladesh. I just want to point out on this and try to make u understand that WB loose its real taste.

Dont it dear? Agree or disagree?

Indeed, we do.

Nobody can or they do to deprive us of our unique singularity!

Come over and be my guest to realise it!

Please don't use the word 'Dear'. It makes one uncomfortable!

Please don't use the word 'Dear'. It makes one uncomfortable!

I didn't find any reason behind using 'dear'. And I used it with another member (friend) who has not showing any reservation then why u do?

The writers from WB admit that Bangladesh retain loving Bangle culture not WB. Now a days we nurture the culture of Bengal. Hence, I told u that. Another thing do u have any reservation in using 'dear' as one of our member have reservation on using that. But I told u as u have been added in my friends list.

I usually use 'dear' for two people - my mom and my sister....so upto you... :P

I am still not sure what special things Bangladesh has done to nurture Bengali culture which West Bengalis have been unable to do. Please enlighten me.

Looking at pictures of Dhaka, it looks like any other Indian city, and the only changes I see happening are the English signboards and glass-facade buildings that have nothing to do with Bengali architecture.

Please do not get imaginative.

I am from East Bengal and I do have fondness for East Bengal, but it does not mean that West Bengal is lousy! :))

Homosexuals show such endearment as dear and things like that!

Flintlock,

Bangladesh has just become independent. Give them time!
