I am curious to know from members here that will there be any change in Pakistani approach towards supporting armed struggle in Kashmir.

let me elaborate here further.Pakistan is fighting WOT for 7-8 years and who knows for how long she has to fight.Let say Pakistan wins this war and every thing goes back to normal. will Pakistan again generate or support groups like Let and hizbul and create same climate which can lead to another favorable environment to grow the same poisonous weed called Terrorism.

if not what would be strategy of pakistan towards india and Kashmir.

Stop calling Kashmir an 'Integral Part of India' and you wouldn't have to worry about what lies ahead in the future. If Kashmiri's would've told Pakistan from day one to **** off and let them live peacefully in India's lap, then there never would've been any dispute or insurgency.

well, kashmiri people never asked pakistan to intervene with armed support but pakistan send its men and guns anyway. Moral or diplomatic support for people of Kashmir is always welcome.

BTW several time Kashmir is called 'integral part of india' by our PMs so i feel no problem calling it.

You can call it what you want.. I remember Americans doing the same thing by putting up a "Mission Accomplished" banner.

Sir, My ex-roomies were Kashmiri Muslims who studied in KU Srinagar and JNU Delhi. Every weekend we used to have solid arguments about the state of affairs in the subcontinent. While we agreed to disagree about the role of India in Kashmir, we did agree that Pakistani role in Kashmir was unwelcome.

They both came from regions most affected by militancy and often talked about Afghan fighters walking about freely in the region and how the locals were afraid of these scumbags. Now what were Afghans doing in Kashmir? And where did they come from?

It was initially true that locals did support the local militants in Kashmir, but once these bloody foreigners started coming in from Pakistani territory, the local supported eroded.

Kashmiris also resent the presence of Indian troops in the region, but wholehearted accept them as being the lesser of the two devils..and with benefits!

But most importantly, Kashmiris want FREEDOM! That includes the some of the Kashmiri (Hindu) Pundits too. They definitely do not want to be under Pakistani rule. And there is ambiguity regarding autonomy under Indian constitution.

So there you have it, Kashmiris want freedom! So why does Pakistan still want Kashmir?

ps: this might seem strange coming from an Indian, and its difficult to accept the reality of what Kashmiris themselves want. Personally, I think, to each his own! But being an Indian, I feel they have more security and advantages with limited autonomy under the Indian constitution!

whatever you are saying is true. one of my friend returned from Srinagar after completing B.E from NIT Srinagar.he told exactly what you stated. There is trust void between army and locals because of ill-treatment by army during 90's. we need to start trust building measures like installing factories and start economical development and encourage kashmiris to live in other part of India.

i am wondering why there is no kashmiri on this forum???? at least i haven't seen

After WOT, the first thing they have to do is to build their economy.

Kashmir would be the last thing in their mind.

Dam I knew it... whole WTO **** is a black mail for Pakistan to back off its claim over Kashmir.
this also means Kashmir was the key behind 9/11?
