Pakistan will be most impacted by US, NATO withdrawal from Afghanistan: Senior US military commander

Funny, I was there in the 80s too, and it was not just bombs, but Kalashnikovs and drugs too. and extremism. But who cares? When is the party to celebrate the death of another superpower killed by Pakistan?
great, so things were not then as I mentioned and you partially agree with me or fully agree with me that's fine. BUT the situation post 9/11 when compared to the situation in the 80's! there is no comparison. as for the party situation. I know that you have your own views that are from the american lense. do you think the americans have actually won afghanistan?
Back then there was not enough media coverage to highlight the problems as today. So, the news of hardships may not have reached you back then.
The issue is the comparison between the effects of soviets in afghanistan and its damage vis a vis to america and their allies presence in afghanistan to Pakistan.

Most Afghans would prefer to go to west as refugees. In the 80's and 90's, Afghans had no choice but to go Pakistan or Iran. Today they have identity documents that are recognized in the West. They hear about living in the west from other Afghans expats via cell phones. By products of development efforts will make your average Afghan prefer western destination.

Its already happening. Almost all afghans that worked with USA military are trying to get visa's out. Many common Afghans would prefer to go to Europe via Iran than go to Pakistan. Plus Pakistan has been fencing its borders with Afghanistan. I just don't see large refugee flows to Pakistan from Afghanistan.

Increase terrorism is possible. Pakistan must be prepared strike terror sanctuaries inside Afghanistan. Drones....covert ops what ever it takes. Pakistan must adopt a sword and shield approach to Afghanistan, IMO.

I think these comments must not be taken lightly. Whatever the implied meaning is it is should definitely raise eyebrows in the concerned quarters.
Like people mentioned that right under the NATO's radar were TTP and BLA terrorists operating with impunity. Refugee influx is understandable, but the terrorist attack point is no mere comment but maybe something that we should actually be ready for.
We've been lax on this aspect for quite few years now; after Zarb e Azb steam rolling all terrorist networks pre-2017.Time to get back in the game and be on our toes.

Ultimately, the WOT has produced many losers:
america, nato, Iraq, Syria and Libya. However, there is ONLY one winner from the WOT, Pakistan and the ISI.

I'm telling you guys, the 'custodians of Kabul' job is coming Rawalpindi's way, whether we like it or not. The US is telling us to figure out Afghanistan, but without any of the gizmos or the cash.
Pakistan may not have a choice. We did it the 90's on the cheap by giving the Taliban some pickups. This time we may need help them with some drone strikes...especially against terror sanctuaries.

Send all the refugees to America. American occupation supported corrupt warlords and caused instability. The US needs to take in at least 500k Afghan refugees. It's the least they can do.

Americans have already imposed limits on refugees. Most Afghan refugees would head to Europe, IMO.

You don't know how it is done!!!
I dont know how they will be game-changers they can come across and they be hunted down. The loc will not change must be worked on that talks to give Kashmiris free movement but defense between the two armies where they are now. Gains by war or terror no chance to succeed for both politically the two populations won't have a backdown by their side

Which Western country has 7-12 million Afghan refugees like Pakistan does? Which European country is eager to host Afghan refugees? Please provide the evidence.

I hoping alot of EDA stuff including whisky cobras and Vipers cash maybe not but if trade volume increase things will be good
Pak and US needs to build a joint command under Centcom may be 3 stars level which includes PAF and PN too to deal Afghanistan situation onwards Guys can sit Qatar or Pindi but Pakistan should never ask for money ask for trade and investment a Win Win for all also Pakistan needs US helps to deal future threat s from militants and banned organizations we have a long working history since coldwar it should not be issue to Adress each others insecurities let's hope for good

LMAO US generals and their lies. Look at them now. Sobbing and hoping Pakistan self-destructs. I can understand why US military establishment feels humiliated at the hands of Pakistan. Two decades in Afghanistan and nothing to show for. Empty handed and angry as always.

LOL at Afghan refugee threat. Don't worry American general. We did our homework. We didn't build the fence for nothing. Aren't these the same US generals that were predicting the end of Pakistani existence every other week when their TTP foot soldiers were wreaking havoc on Pak soil?

Look at these American generals taunting Pakistan with security blackmail. They are giggling at the prospect of terrorism in Pakistan. The day these attacks happen we will return the favor. We got the address of the sponsor of such attacks.
Except its not a lie.

I've been warning about this for a long time, and so have many within Pakistan.

The fensing cannot completely stop the refugee flow, and millions WILL find a way to cross over.

There WILL be terrorist attacks. You saying that Pakistan will simply crush them won't change the fact that those attacks will happen, and lives will be lost.

No one is giggling or laughing, this is is merely an observation based on ground reality.

By the way, the US's failures in Afghanistan were 100% the fault of US politicians, not the military. The US military had multiple good plans to stabilize Afghanistan, but Bush, and Obama both gutted those plans: for example, remember the Obama era surge of troops? The US military wanted 300,000 troops over a period of 15 years, what Obama gave them were only a couple of tens of thousands, and only for a few years, because Obama was scared of the political backlash.

Anyway, back to topic, anyone who believes that the taliban taking over Afghanistan is good for Pakistan, or a US withdrawal is a Pakistani victory are living in a delusion. A US withdrawal will create a vacuum that will allow multiple terrorist groups to flourish, including the ttp. This idea that the talibam are pro-pakistan is stupid, because if they were, they would A) kick out the ttp, which they have continued to refuse to do, and B) accept the Durand line, which they've refused to do since they were in charge of Afghanistan, and in fact threatened to attack Pakistan if Pakistan ever enforces the border.
