But as most of the members here say, these attacks have the permission of GoP.. Then why is US being targeted ??

Yes, it was permitted by GoP to limit against terrorists locations, however, drones are now out of control killing many innocents. The number death of civilians go higher.

good question, well I think most likely approved by Pakistan Army's go ahead, drones should be use limit to chase down terrorists safe havens. They continue to ignore our demands not to kill innocents people for what reasons.

Yes, drones is useful to save Pakistan Army and resources.

First the wheat must be separated from the chaff ; in this case Bull$hit from the truth. Any cringing/whining/pleading/begging or event protestations/demonstrations cannot hide the truth that drones have targeted, killed and eliminated humans of the worst kind who not only have created havoc but are a blot on the name of Islam.

How many tribes do the jirga represent ? What influence do they have on the Taliban affiliated tribes ? If Pakistan (PA) does not have any sovereignty on the badlands of Waziristan, then how does IK expect to take control of it ? Through peace, hugging, coochie-cooing and hi-fives all around ? How many opinions does he need that drones do more good than harm in the longer run of the WoT ? Farhat Taj, Ijaz Khan(Univ. of Peshawar), are just some of the people who have been on the ground and conducted extensive surveys on the successes of drones. Heck, even the tribal leaders have quoted on the massive "fear factor" created amongst the militants due to it.

Finally, simply stating that drones violate sovereignty, this breeds extremism, extremism destroys Pakistan is not the whole truth. To eliminate extremism, Pakistan must stamp out the extremism created by the fundamentalists circa Zia era, the blasphemy laws and the like. Why doesn't he take a stand on that ? Let him take a dharna on that, let him say, "let's separate state from religion". People will separate his head from his torso, that's what will happen there if he even moves an inch in that direction.

So if PA has approved these strikes and continue to give their approval, then they are also responsible for the Civilian deaths being caused by these strikes.. Then why the clamor for UN intervention against USA?

.
It is criminal to act so dumb!

Well, not the people and the victims who barely have access to proper education, leave alone internet and international news media... just Imran Khan.

I know, it doesn't make sense. We will seek the answers and keep pressures on GoP as well as PA. I have mentioned same before.

Lol, I like your signatures. ;)

US has no permission to launch drone strikes: Gilani

PERTH: Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani Saturday categorically said there was no permission given to the United States to launch any drone strike against any target inside Pakistan’s territory.

“There is no such permission,” Gilani told a large group of Pakistani expatriates. The prime minister is here on a four-day visit to attend the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting, that is being attended by over 50 world leaders.

The Prime Minister said such attacks were counterproductive because of the collateral damages caused as these were undermining government’s efforts to get the unanimous support of the masses against the extremists and terrorists.

He said drone strikes were one of the reasons of tense relations between Pakistan and the United States of America. He said Pakistan has also conveyed to the United States that the unilateral military operation, such as the operation of May 2 to get Osama bin Laden, would not be acceptable.

Prime Minister Gilani, who also had an interactive session with the community members, said there has been a sea change in the country’s foreign policy towards terrorism as a result of the vindication of his vision of three Ds, dialogue, development and deterrence.

“There has been a paradigm shift in the policy between a democratic government and a dictatorial regime,” he said and added that now the people of Pakistan and the Parliament were the ultimate arbitrators to take important decision of national importance.

“Unlike the policies of the past when things started rolling with a single telephone call from the United States of America, now we seek mandate of the Parliament and take decisions with consensus.”

He said it was for the first time that the Army Chief and the DG (ISI) briefed the Parliament which had never happened before in the history of the country. He mentioned the Swat operation that went ahead, after the reluctance of the Taliban leaders to honour their commitment for not indulging in any unlawful activities. “Their defiance led me to take army operation against the militants and the people wholeheartedly supported the government throughout,” he added.

The Prime Minister told the Pakistani expatriates that the nation stood united to eliminate extremist and terrorist elements from the country regardless the sacrifices, adding, they had suffered over 35000 causalities.

It's fascinating to see Pakistani leaders, like the doomed Baghdad Bob, lie absolutely fluently and unashamedly. It shows what kind of honor these men have, what Pakistanis are used to. Naturally, given the tribal atmosphere of Pakistan, Pakistanis don't think better of outsiders than of their own. Yet Pakistanis couldn't be more wrong...

Gilani already knows, of course, that according to binding post-9/11 UNSC resolutions Pakistan has no standing in international law to demand an end to drone strikes in known terrorist areas in the absence of Pakistani action against terrorists. But he can rely on Pakistan's media to omit that, is that not so?

Let me shred your statements to pieces, Grow some brains. Pakistan has all the standing in UN and now that Pakistan has become the member of UN Security council.

The UN Charter's prohibition of member states of the UN attacking other UN member states is central to the purpose for which the UN was founded in the wake of the destruction of World War II: to prevent war. This overriding concern is also reflected in the Nuremberg Trials' concept of a crime against peace "starting or waging a war against the territorial integrity, political independence or sovereignty of a state, or in violation of international treaties or agreements..." (crime against peace), which was held to be the crime that makes all war crimes possible.

Post 9/11 UNSC resolution does not imply and apply to Pakistan; to attack or interfere in other country or violate airspace-sovereignty.

A/RES/50/172. Respect for the principles of national sovereignty and non-interference in the internal affairs of States in their electoral processes

Let see US goes into other countries to liberate them from oppression and terrorism would any other country go into US to liberate its people from the current on going turmoil in US due to sunken economy and prejudice and no Justice and the large scale terrorism and threat to existence of other countries.
