Good question. Encouraging Taliban would be suicidal with respect to this trade. So Pakistan wants Centeral Asian countries to use it's Sea ports (Gawadar and Karachi) for trade, potentially a 90 Billions dollars trade agreement but how can it be materliazed if there is no peace in Afghanistan ?

Without a compromise between Taliban and other factions, Afghanistan will never be stable. This is why we need to throw full backing behind Taliban. lets get Afghanistan secure.
Why? As long as Taliban control the country, they also benefit from transit trade.

Going from CAS to Urumqi and then to Gwadar will double the travel time and cost. I wish whoever forms government in Afghanistan has some sense of the economic benefit their country can reap if they have peace and security.By this route ,by passing afghanistan through China View attachment 762484
The Taliban would ensure there’s peace in Afganistan! They have already subdued 85% of Afganistan including border crossings and major road networks! Looks like they’re implementing a “higher plan”!!! The Russian block has already mobilized forces at the Tajik side of Wakhan borders! If necessary they might annex it! Connectivity to Pak is no jokes….View attachment 762415https://tribune.com.pk/story/2310371/uzbekistan-to-use-pakistani-seaports-for-trade

Why do you think the Taliban are beating the hell out of the ANA thugs and has captured almost the entire Afganistan?? Nothing is being left to the chances…..Going from CAS to Urumqi and then to Gwadar will double the travel time and cost. Wakhan seems like the best option but it is very remote and with difficult terrain, may be a challenge to run a year round functioning rail/road link through there.I don't know whether it is feasible, but I think rather than going through the middle of Afghanistan, we should form some sort of corridor with the consent of the afghan government, to go through wakhan to bypass the mess in the rest of the country.
I don't think we have any other choices? The situation in Afghanistan will remain uncertain for the foreseeable future. Other countries have rich experience in running commerce through such climates and terrains. We can learn a thing or two from them.Wakhan seems like the best option but it is very remote and with difficult terrain, may be a challenge to run a year round functioning rail/road link through there.
