Pakistan to remain on FATF grey list

The Western world can take it's "Grey List" and shove it up where the sun don't shine.

Pakistan and the entire non-Western world ought to get out of IMF/WB and "Dedollarize" their economy.

The West will go into the garbage bin of history, it's coming and there ain't a damn thing they can do about it.

. . .
This FATF is a geopolitical tool of US and West, being used against Pakistan, to bring it inline with US interests.

And? It seems to be working on our weak govt/army.
Why isn’t UK or India on fatf grey list? UK the home of all corrupt politicians of the world teh capital for money laundering

The world is not fair.

Either live in Lalaland and keep complaining or find creative ways to skirt these tools of political warfare.
Typical childish posts full of frustration and showing fingers to USA/the West. The main reasaon why Pakistan continues on the list is India, yes INDIA. Notice Pakistan had met all but one condition as listed in 2018 by FATF. However a new list was added by, yes the Asia group of FATF.

Now who do you think that was? China? USA - it is NOT in Asia. The country in Asia that will have cried foul is India and managed to add the extra conditions.

Now, if Pakistan had friends in the West they might have arm twisted the Indians into dropping the extra conditions but there is no friends of Pakistan in the West. Thus Indian shenangians seeped through the FATF without any restrictions.

Pakistan cannot have friends in the West because international relations operate on interests and grand strategy, not being buddies.

The West needs India as part of its strategy to contain China. We don't fit into that.

We should stop complaining, whining and hoping --- and accept this basic reality and start reforming/planning for it!
Pakistan is not in the business of pleasing anyone except itself nor does it care about bogus lists but the intention behind them which it doesn't approve.. Pakistan morally sees itself above the list nor approve of these behind it who clearly made a miscalculating move. Such lists can never be valid if the mother of financing THE US and A can't be grey listed it is worse nothing more than a toilet paper

Except that the world is not fair and DOES operate in an unjust way. Pakistan unfortunately needs to care --- but not by bowing down. Rather, by being creative and finding ways to skirt this shit. Pakistan's leadership cares TOO MUCH about this stuff. Wake up.

Pakistan can leave FATF anytime it wishes to do so.

Pakistan and other third world countries will be blackmailed, till blackmailer don't have anything in their hands.
I will suggest, liberation of Africa can be the first step in this direction.

Whining won't work (WWW)....

It's a fundamental trait...if you control a system, you can change and bent rules to make it run per your wishes.....Don't the governments do the same with their countries.

So if FATF is controlled by bunch of countries who do not support your view...you have four options

1. Quit the system and switch to the one you feel more comfortable in.... (there is none unfortunately)
2. Create a parallel system of your own and get buy in from the world (those similar to you) to join........ (Currently you do not have that capability)
3. Do what they want you to do and enjoy the rewards.....(you will need to bring down your ego for that. I any case you do whatever being asked, when it comes to China)
4. Keep suffering.... (won't be a healthy option in longer run)

Up to you to Decide.

. .
Any idea why isn't it doing so?
What are the repercussions ?

That is not for me to say here. It is up to the Pakistani leadership to decide about the course of action that is best suited to their goals.

Embarrassing that Pakistan's leadership can't get things in order to clear its name from the grey list. Pakistanis should be asking these questions to their government and not indulge in applying that soothing balm - blame India and everything will be alright!

I don't think Pakistanis are that much fools and can't see reasons behind such grey list. The way Pakistan has done everything, it is now proven to be an arm twisting watchdog. Why should any Pakistani doubt the State while on other hand, FATF is clearly acting like lackey of white privilege.

Billion dollar question is how pakistan can get rid off itself from this list if it is doing everything right. Pakistan must give credit to where it is due to its adversary who are able to stranglehold pakistan on the table of geopolitics & world of diplomacy, not everything can be failure of Pakistan gov.

How now the strategic location of Pakistan not able to serve the purpose, maybe it has become a cliche.

Actually, enemies on the ground are defeated and full hands down. On the table, where most bias sits; the lackeys play their part and practical is not counted. This is what adversaries can do and yeah, India is mere bogeyman in this case while one can see who is most hurt and wants Pakistan to bow down. Not happening.
"absolutely not"

Exactly why someone's sugar daddy 8snhurt and influencing through a cheerleader.

They won't let Pakistan off the hook. The conditions set are just eye washer. The price tag set could be stop CPEC or even ALOC to Afghanistan.

Turkey, Jordan and Mali join Pakistan in FATF grey list

PARIS (Agencies): The Financial Action Task Force kept Pakistan on the grey list on Thursday after its three-day plenary session ended. The global financial watchdog said that Pakistan addressed or largely addressed 30 of the 34 action plan items.

“Pakistan remains under increased monitoring (grey list). The Pakistan government has two concurrent action plans, with a total of 34 action plan items. It has now addressed or largely addressed 30 of the items,” Dr Marcus Pleyer, the FATF president, said.

Also FATF placed Turkey under surveillance Thursday for shortcomings in combating money laundering and terrorism financing.

“Serious issues remain” in Turkey’s controls over financial operations, FATF head Marcus Pleyer said at a press conference.

The body placed Turkey on its grey list of countries under increased monitoring due to strategic deficiencies in their regimes to combat money laundering and terrorist financing.

Pleyer said the Turkish government made a commitment to continue its efforts to improve its anti-money laundering system.
“I urge them to turn this commitment into action,” he added.

Nevertheless, the FATF recognised that Turkey had made progress in a number of areas, including laying out a national strategy to combat money laundering and the financing of terrorism and increased seizures of cash being smuggled across.

A FATF document indicated that Turkey plans to boost resources to conduct more investigations and increase penalties for unregistered money transfer services. There are now 39 nations on FATF’s grey list, which can have a serious impact upon foreign investment into countries and their international reputation.
The decision comes as Turkey is already in the midst of an economic crisis that has seen its currency slide and inflation hit nearly 20 percent.

In addition to Turkey, Jordan and Mali were add-ed to the grey list. Mean-while, Botswana and Mauritius were removed.
