ISLAMABAD: Chinese ambassador to Pakistan Yao Jing here on Friday called on Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan in Islamabad.
Talking to the Chinese ambassador, Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan said that Pakistan would send a cultural troupe to participate in celebrations of 70th anniversary of the founding of People’s Republic of China.
She said, “Strengthening cooperation in the fields of information and culture will further cement relations between the two countries.”
Dr. Firdous also emphasized the need for exchange of delegations in fields of media, information and culture so that both sides could learn from each others’ expertise.
Earlier, Pakistan and China had termed 2019 a year of economic, social and agricultural cooperation on January 15.
The understanding had reached during a meeting between Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Mr. Yao Jing and Minister for Planning and Development Makhdum Khusro Bakhtiar in the federal capital.
Matters of mutual interest, progress on CPEC projects and other issues had come under discussion during the meeting. Talking to Chinese envoy, Bakhtiar had said that they would facilitate Chinese investors looking for opportunities under the China Pakistan Economic Corridor.
