Pakistan test fires Hatf VII missile

Sounds interesting. Any change in range? Any change in speed?

You sure it is not a spelling mistake of a journalist referring to Babur Cruise Missile?

RAWALPINDI: Pakistan on Thursday conducted a successful test of the indigenously developed Cruise Missile Hatf-VII (Babur) having a range of 600 kms.

The missile tests are part of a process of validating the system. Babur, which can carry strategic and conventional warheads, has stealth capabilities, is a low flying, terrain hugging missile with high maneuverability, pin point accuracy and radar avoidance features.

It also incorporates the modern cruise missile technology of Terrain Contour Matching (TERCOM) and Digital Scene Matching & Area Co-relation (DSMAC).

The test was witnessed by Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, General Khalid Shamim Wynne, Director General Strategic Plans Division, Lieutenant General (retired) Khalid Ahmed Kidwai, Commander Army Strategic Force Command Lieutenant General Jamil Haider, Chairman NESCOM Muhammad Irfan Burney, senior officers from the armed forces and strategic organizations, scientists and engineers.

The Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee reiterated that the test will go a long way in consolidating Pakistan’s strategic deterrence capability, and further strengthening national security.

Pakistan’s resolve and commitment to continue its strategic programme will remain paramount, he added.

The successful test has also been warmly appreciated by the President and Prime Minister of Pakistan, who have congratulated the scientists and engineers on their outstanding success.

Sir, a mixup of a 'u' and an 'a' can and should be forgiven. I got you the report before a channel reported it. Breaking News exclusive to PDF, eh?

If I am right, the rang hasn't been extended. Looks like this is the version which can travel further low with the ground and it is being called "stealth". Has RAM been added to that??

geo news also reported 600 km range but i have heard from sum where that 2nd variant got 700 km range :undecided:
