ISLAMABAD:
Pakistan sweated through its hottest day of the year on Saturday with the maximum temperature fluctuating between 46°C and 47°C in different towns and cities.

According to the Meteorological Department, the highest temperature was recorded in Shaheed Benazirabad where the temperature soared to 47°C while a season-high temperature of 46°C was recorded in Sukkur, Chhor, Dadu and Turbat, while 45°C was recorded in Jacobabad, Rohri, Padidan, Nawabshah, Rahim Yar Khan and Larkana.

The highest temperature recorded in Lahore was 40°C, Peshawar sizzled at 38°C, Islamabad 37°C, Karachi 36°C, Quetta 31°C.

Talking to The Express Tribune, an official at the Met office said that southern parts of Sindh, Balochsitan and Punjab would remain in the grip of extreme heat for the next two or three days.

However, gusty winds, accompanied by thunderstorms, are expected in upper parts of the country, which will help bring down the temperature between two and three degrees Celsius.

“Since last year, (temperature) levels are touching 47°C in April and it is because of climate change,” the official said.

And yet no one gives a shit!

Allah Lahore ke 40 degree temperature se bachaye

Lahore 40 C and sheikhupura 42°C ... The world powers aren't giving jack shit to climate change and slowly the temperatures are risings. We need billions and billions of trees to combat this atleast to some extent for our nation.

Its amazing how lightly the world is taking such a serious threat.

How hot was it outside @WAJsal ?.
I stayed in.....
Seriously, I'm surprised that climate change isn't a "hot" topic in this country (yes, pun intended), but then again we have a lot more to worry about.
Nothing should be more worrying than lack of enthusiasm for a future!

I feel like Pakistanis in Lahore are the biggest pussies. These temperatures are not that big of a deal when it comes to our people in Southern Punjab/Northern Sindh. We get it the worst and people literally die of heat strokes. All you burgers in Lahore and Isloo have to do is go spend a day at the mall, while we put wet rags on our heads and wave hand fans to generate some kind of cooling or go to swim in the rivers. Obviously women can not go swimming in the rivers.

Just something to think about for millennial Pakistani burger bacha's.
