The fight for the top YouTuber spot has been going on for months now between the Indian giant T-Series against Felix Kjellberg, better known as Pewdiepie. Both channels have been having an intense scuffle, as T-Series moved to take over Pewdiepie as the most subscribed YouTube channel. But now, after the relationships between Pakistan and India have intensified, this YouTube fight has taken an interesting turn as well.
After T-Series took down songs by Pakistani artists like Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Atif Aslam, Pakistanis were intensely offended and decided to unsubscribe from T-Series and subscribe to Pewdiepie to help keep him ahead of India’s giant music label.
A far-right Indian political party, The Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) initially called for Indian music labels to take down songs of Pakistani singers as a reaction to the Pulwama attack, and also as prior to elections, it is the ideal time for political time scoring.

Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series had collaborated with Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Atif Aslam for two different singles recently. The songs were taken down later on, and it was claimed that it came as an aftermath of the threats.
“We have verbally communicated to Indian music companies like T-Series, Sony Music, Venus and Tips Music etc to not work with Pakistani singers. These companies should stop it immediately or we will take action in our own style” – said the head of the MNS Chitrapat Sena, Amey Khopkar.
Though Pakistan has assured India cooperation on all fronts and to share if the evidence they have collected regarding our involvement in the attack but the jingoism continues.
Following the extremist move, Pakistanis have started a campaign lending their support to Pewdiepie.
