WASHINGTON: Pakistan, Afghanistan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan have signed an agreement CASA-1000 which will enable Islamabad to import electricity to meet its energy needs.

Federal Minister for Water and Power Khawaja Asif represented Pakistan in the meeting. Under the agreement Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan will provide 700 megawatt electricity to Pakistan via Afghanistan.

Few queries,

How is technical transmission loss being accounted for? AFAIK, Afghanistan's transmission lines are of lower kv, hence, losses could be more.
What about electricity loss due to theft in Afghanistan? How is that going to be controlled?

To give an idea, the US has 7% loss due to transmission.
