This is for all Pakistanis who promote Iran as a role model for Pakistan:

. . .
Reza Aslan a jokester in US press lol nah @Pan-Islamic-Pakistan

He's not a Muslim but an agnostic. He doesn't even believe the prophet Muhammad saws existed.

His religious and political views are all over the place and he picks and chooses to believe whatever he wants.

The only thing he is good for is debating Republicans on Fox News.

He doesn't represent Iranians or Iranian-Americans.

This is for all Pakistanis who promote Iran as a role model for Pakistan:

Misleading title, please change it. Reza Aslan is not even a Muslim.

OP, I suggest you pick up "No god but God by Reza Aslan.' If you live in the states, it is everywhere.

You will see his heterodox religious views from his own words.

.
Middle East and Iran are not role models don't make me laugh. Repressive, patriarchal, corrupt, elitist. Dress women in bed sheets and justice system is non existent.

Remember Pakistan has roots from British empire. We have learned from the best, don't need to follow people who have no idea what they are doing.

You act as if Pakistan is any different.

Lmao no we don't. Our country is the successor-state to the Muslim empires of the region. Lahore, one of Pakistan's biggest cities, has been a major seat of Islamic power in the region for centuries. Urdu, the national language of Pakistan, came about during the Islamic rule over the region. Our very food is Mughlai cuisine, and Syed Ahmed Khan, the first person to think about creating Pakistan, was descended from Mughal aristocrats and himself came from Delhi when it was still under Mughal rule. The majority of Pakistani tribes/clans are also descended from Muslims, with no Hindus among them.

Just look at the Mughal battle flag:

And then look at ours:

You are right Pakistan is not any different which is why they are in this mess. They have picked the wrong role model.

Pakistan of the 60s was going places and thats because they used their british teachings as a base. Arab influence post 70s and look at this disgusting mess. Blind leading the blind.

That is not true. He is a Muslim. And he might not represent Iranian Americans, but he sees Iran for what it is as many Iranians do. Sadly Pakistanis don't. They want Pakistan to be like Iran, a Mullah state.

What a joke. "Hindu" is not a religion. It was an ancient word meaning the people of the Indus, which is what we are. It was the British who made up "Hinduism".

Our roots lay with the Indus, both pre and post Islamic. "Urdu" is not a language. Just like East and West Punjabi, Urdu and Hindi represent different scripts of Hindustani (which means Land of the Indus).

Like all other Muslims, it is our pride in our country first, then in our religion. I know non-Muslim Pakistanis and they are proud of their country. The same is for me and other like minded Muslim Pakistanis.

It's roots are in the Indus Valley which is where our civilization started. No doubt there were good as well as bad things about British rule. Let's not be one or the other. But totally agree with you on the Middle East. They have oil and we have tech. Iran is better than Pakistan in terms of living conditions, but that's because it's total population is less than that of Punjab. Pakistan is overpopulated.

howcome you didn't mention Saudi Arabia? He clearly says don't follow Iran and Saudi Arabia.
Did I state we should follow Saudi Arabia? Nope.

I’m almost done reading his book, “No god but God.” Pick it up. You will change your mind instantly.

Iranian religious political views are very similar to Deobandis. Sunni Hanafis have a lot more in common with Shia Ithna Asharis than other mazhabs. Imran Khan is a Deobandi too.

They are all Muslims according to Council of Madina, whether Wahhabi/Salafi/Ahle Hadees or Shias Ithna Ashari/Ismaili. It is not allowed to ban them from Hajj or exclude them.

They believe in One Allah and Muhammad saws as the last prophet. That is the ultimate criteria for Islam. This is why Ahmadiyyas fall outside.

That’s enough from me because religious discussion is not allowed here.

What a joke. "Hindu" is not a religion. It was an ancient word meaning the people of the Indus, which is what we are. It was the British who made up "Hinduism".

Hindu was used to refer to people who lived in the Indian sub-continent and followed a Dharmic religion.

You have nothing more in common with IVC than you do with the Sumerians.

"Urdu" is not a language.

Yes it is lol.

Like all other Muslims, it is our pride in our country first, then in our religion.

What do you mean "like all other Muslims"? Your statement is not only one of kufr, but is also factually wrong lol:

إِنَّ اللَّهَ قَدْ أَذْهَبَ عَنْكُمْ عُبِّيَّةَ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ وَفَخْرَهَا بِالْآبَاءِ إِنَّمَا هُوَ مُؤْمِنٌ تَقِيٌّ وَفَاجِرٌ شَقِيٌّ النَّاسُ كُلُّهُمْ بَنُو آدَمَ وَآدَمُ خُلِقَ مِنْ تُرَابٍ

Verily, Allah has removed from you the pride of the time of ignorance with its boasting of ancestors. Verily, one is only a righteous believer or a miserable sinner. All of the people are the children of Adam, and Adam was created from dust.
