Pakistan Seafood export up by 27.29 percent

Country's seafood export grew by 27.29 percent to $184.293 million in July-Nov 2019, official figure says.

Increase in the seafood export now stands at $39.508 million in July-Nov 2019 from $144.785 million in July-Nov 2018, Pakistan Bureau of Statistics shows.

In term of quantity, Pakistan exported 75,123 metric tons of seafood to the world markets, which is 24 percent higher or 14, 363 metric tons from 60,760 metric tons in July-Nov 2018.

In Nov 2019, the country's seafood export surged to $54.638 million from $35.010 million in Nov 2018, growing by 56.06 or $19.628 million.

Export volume of seafood also mounted to 22,956 metric tons in Nov 2019 from 16,247 metric tons in Nov 2018, up by 41.29 percent or 6,709 metric tons.

We should focus on inland farming of fish too. It's a great source of protien and essential oils. It should be a regular in everyones diets away from rivers and coastal areas too. Unfortunately it's so expensive for the common man atm.

Yes.
My dad once said that President Ayub Khan had started a campaign of encouraging people to eat more sea food for health benefits.
Anyway, sea food farming, whether inland or from ocean, should be sustainable. I know it's an interconnected world but it would be great that, somehow, Pakistan ensures the water around its coasts are not depleted of marine life. Not sure if that's even possible when the rest of the world will destroy the planet??
