ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Thursday denied New Delhi's allegation that its spy agency was trying to recruit and train extremists to carry out attacks across the border in the Indian state of Punjab.

Indian home minister Sushilkumar Shinde leveled the accusation Wednesday that Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) was pressuring Sikh militant leaders to target Punjab and other parts of India.

“Pakistan rejects those remarks accusing us and implicating one of our government agencies for fomenting terror in Indian Punjab,” said foreign ministry spokesman Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry.

“Such a statement in our view is uncalled for and regrettable. We feel that making such statement has the potential of undermining the efforts made by both sides to normalise the relations between the two countries.”

The Indian home minister had alleged that there had been “some significant development on the Sikh militancy front” and accused the ISI of seeking to further its “terror plans” in India.

Chaudhry urged Delhi to share any evidence it had of such involvement and said further accusations could harm already fragile ties.

Well they're hardly going to admit to harbouring terrorists are they?

an Indian settled in australia knows Sikh "terrorists" hiding in Pakistani Punjab.

Oh the irony.

p.s. When Ak antony says something something. The Pakistani rep says something something.

Isn't that enough $hit.

That Indians and Pakistanis settled 1000s upon 1000s miles from this $hit have to start shoveling even more $hit.

Is this monkey see monkey do a fixation for expat Indians and Pakistanis?

Just curious.

Allegations mean nothing until they are proven by credible evidence. India is in a pathological denial, which makes it squarely place the blame on Pakistan for everything to hide its own incompetence. Mr Shinde has made outrageous allegations regarding the Khalistan movement. Pakistan has nothing to gain from an independent Khalistan, nor do we share any sympathies with Sikhs to help them in their cause. Indian government instead of placing blame on Pakistan should provide concrete evidence to such claims before making allegations, if it is serious about establishing peace in the sub continent.

If Benezir would have been alive she would have stood witness to how Pakistan started and supported the failed Kalistan movement.

Pakistan always gets a facepalm everytime by first rejecting everything and then slowly acknowledging it later..
e.g. Khalistan movement, OBL, Kargil, 26/11 etc.

Woah there.

I'm just saying that this response was to be expected from the Pakistanis, irrespective of whether they do harbour Khalistanis or not.

Read above.

That idiot Shinde atleast shouldn't have accused Pakistan directly

While Pakistan is busy sending positive vibes to India, India is again up to issuing baseless statements.

Let me say "certain interests" in India who cannot afford to have peaceful relations between the two countries.

Yersterday June 6th was Genocide day of Sikhs in India. The Indian govt failed to provide justice to Sikhs and shinde bhinday dint find anything but to divert attention from Sikhs' demands for justice.

anyway look into UK links etc links and you will find more support there for Sikh cause.

Indians seriously need to change their tune and concentrate on some introspection.
Rather than wasting time listening to Bhartti blabbering, this is the reality the world sees.
