While equipment is expensive, having a few force multipliers with very police force unit. Which has to deal with the threat of miscreants attacks, should be a given nowadays. Especially because the price of decent equipment has come down a lot.
It should not be possible for attackers to attack the police and be able to get away. If they knew they would be perused and killed at every attack they would be less likely to do it, unless they were suicidal.

This system also has attachments that can be used as a direction speaker, so miscreants can be told to surrender or face being killed. It would be good for the border guards.
Also, I would hope each unit has at least a few NVGs to be able to see what the drone sees and can use the information to close with and neutralize the attackers.
Having a drone provide overwatch during and operation can alert the force the movement of the miscreants and mitigate the risk of being ambushed.
I hope tethered drones are also procured with Machine learning technology to spot IEDs, and protect convoys.
