KAMRA, Oct 22 (APP): Defence Production Minister, Rana Tanveer Hussain Tuesday said that Pakistan was planing to enhance its defence exports in the near future. Our factories and establishments were not only meeting our own defence requirement but also exporting their products to other countries, he said while visiting Pakistan Aeronautical Complex here. He said,Over a period of time, Pakistans defence industry has grown into well-established units and has developed the potential to export defence equipment to friendly countries and international markets.
Today, Pakistan certainly has the infrastructure and trained manpower not only to meet its own defence requirements but also to undertake joint ventures, he added.
Rana Tanveer received an in-depth briefing about the working of Pakistan Aeronautical Complex.
The composition of all units and factories of PAC Kamra and their capacity was explained to the minister during the briefing session.
The Minster took keen interest in the briefing and raised several questions to further enhance the working of PAC Kamra.
He desired that the quality and transparency should be the key parameters while acquiring defence equipment.
He said that the quality of the aircraft overhaul and rebuild at the factories are of state of the art.
After the briefing, the Minister took a detailed tour of the Aircraft Rebuild Factory and the Mirage Rebuild Factory.
He appreciated the proficiency and technical level of the workers and supervisors alike.
The Minister was then taken to the Avionics Production Factory where he appreciated the efforts of the skilled workers and technical staff involved in the project of the most prized JF-17 Thunder aircraft.
Pakistans Defence industry has the capacity of manufacturing surplus products in order to earn foreign exchange for national development.
The most of the Industries are producing defence equipment of optimum level.
PAC is mainly focusing on Super Mushshak, K-8 trainer Jet, JF-17 Thunder and maintenance and rebuild of aircraft of Pakistan Air Force.
The visit was very fruitful and the Minster assured PAC of all out help in getting their problems addressed.
The Chairman PAC Kamra added that all valuable suggestions and points raised by the Minister will be implemented soon.
Earlier, upon his arrival, the Minister was received by Air Marshal Sohail Gul Khan, Chairman Pakistan Aeronautical Complex.
Additional Secretary, Ministry of Defence Production, Maj.Gen. Raza Muhammad accompanied the Minister.
All senior officers of PAC Kamra were introduced to the Minister for Defence Production.
