Shanghai Expo: Pakistan pavilion attracts large Visitors

BEIJING (China): Pakistan’s pavilion at Shanghai World Expo is attracting a large number of visitors from different countries and region.The Pakistan Pavilion at Shanghai Expo, a replica of famous and historic Lahore Fort, was launched at the opening ceremony held on May 1 along with scores of other pavilions.
A blend of modern and the ancient era, the pavilion displays the strengths of Pakistan’s modern cities. The six months long exposition that kicked off on May 1 to continue till October this year and the organizers expecting the exhibition to attract more than 70 million visitors. The Pakistan Pavilion is located next to the Chinese Pavilion and is expected to receive a large number.
Masood Khan, Ambassador of Pakistan to China, who is also the Commissioner General of his country’s Pavilion, attended the inaugural ceremony and inspected the arrangements made there. He mingled with the Chinese and Pakistani visitors.
While talking to the media in Shanghai, Masood Khan said that the theme of Pakistan’s Pavilion is “Harmony in Diversity”.
Ambassador Masood Khan said that Pakistan Pavilion had three distinct strengths: “(i) it showcases modern city life with deep roots in Pakistan’s ancient civilizations; (ii) It captures diverse facets of Pakistan’s traditional culture, social development and technological advances; and (iii) It displays images of strong and resilient Pakistan-China relations”.
Long queues of visitors outside Pakistan Pavilion are being flashed by the Chinese media.
