Pakistan Orders More AW139s.

That was intended in a lighter spirit; I didn't expect this ill-tempered, ill-mannered, cut-and-paste response. If you can't participate in a discussion without venting your spleen, go and kick your dog.

Don't buy the Dhruv; but when you comment, try to remember that 18 have crashed, over 12 years, 3 due to pilot error, 2 in Siachen and Sikkim white-out conditions and 1 due to hostile fire; that leaves 12 in 12 years. Out of 230+ flying. You can work out what it amounts to, in percentage terms. That's for a helicopter designed and built in India. And that also accounts for a policy decision by the Home Ministry and other non-military buyers to entrust maintenance to Pawan Hans, known for its sloppy work practices.

18 crashes in 12 years, out of which 3 were pilot error, 2 were Siachen and Sikkim high altitude white-outs, and 1 was brought down by firing? Ultimately 12 crashes in the entire fleet in 12 years?

Don't; he probably doesn't need your vote, and I certainly don't need to convince you. There are other, senior members who have a different opinion; that is good enough.

No, I don't think you will buy this. Instead you will buy whatever shit you can afford to buy - and that's not very much, so congratulations on getting four (4) excellent choppers.

If you know anything about the matter - very doubtful - this specific one and operating helicopters in general, you will recognise that spares were not bought along with the choppers, and when parts were needed, delivery was expected overnight. When these were not available, they kept flying the choppers, without the benefit of either preventive maintenance or fault repairs, and four crashes occurred.

Off topics and irrelevant admin take action kick out folks and if they need to go to other threads please do so

Why would it state delivery in 2019? Plus it’s Leonardo Oem announcing
yep but if you take a look at the leonardo's official website it will confirm about the same order placed back in feb 2017 and later in March it was signed by the govt... however the number of ordered helicopters is unknown ..... but end of story is .. lets eat the mango rather than counting leaves

Components and munitions. As is the case with every other aeronautical development, except for dead-ends. Do get up to date with current practice, dear Sir.
You were just born to be a pathological denial.

* In the late 1960s, the German Messerschmitt-Boelkow-Blohm firm (MBB, later part of Airbus Helicopter) introduced a utility helicopter, the "Bo 105", that proved very successful on the global helicopter market. It was followed by an improved successor, the Airbus "H135", which is now in widespread service. MBB also collaborated with Kawasaki of Japan to develop a scaled-up derivative of the Bo 105, the "BK 117", which proved popular as well and, through technology cross-breeding with the H135, led to the Airbus "H145".

This document provides a history and description of the Bo 105, H135, BK 117, and H145 -- and also discusses the Indian HAL Dhruv helicopter, designed with MBB assistance and more or less a scaled-up BK 117.

The trouble with your kind of narrative is your desperate grasping at every straw to make a non-existent case. As it happens, I was present right through the development cycle, working as a contractor. What you have gleaned from your extensive study of the Internet cannot compare with my being there when the blade design came out skewed one millimetre, due to the translation of the design from one system to another, and all the other headaches involved in taking up a task from basics.

The HAL design team went through every detail; the involvement of MBB was in validating our assumptions, and schooling us about the certification procedures. They were not creative people and copied the external shape of the cabin, and that was about it.

So don't give me that stuff about more or less a scaled-up BK 117. That is more or less crap.

IIRC the PAF committed to buy 14 back in 2016 (to replace the Alouette IIIs). This is likely just another batch order from within that framework (of 14 helicopters). The MRO should already be in place via the Pratt & Whitney PT6 site at PAC.
So are you saying we will have roughly 30 such examples by 2020?
A

90% of us are not! But on the Internet we are a minority.

It is these bastard Internet Hindus who are responsible for the bad reputation that we have.

They are all quiet now. 42 retired officers have written to Modi asking him to take responsibility for this culture of rape and murder, as his words have set off these incidents. Civil society is enraged. My people in Bangalore marched with other citizens protesting these communal and otherwise politically protected murders.

But the situation is still not normal.

Yesterday, all the accused in the Mecca Masjid bombing were let off, and the judge delivered his judgement, and immediately resigned. Even a child can see that the charges were deliberately weakened so that the judge would have nothing to do to let the accused go free.

There is a long way to go.

Very well said. Yeh sach Hindu hai. Woh kutte nahin. It is good to see a Brahmin standing up and saying what we all feel. Sometimes it seemed that they were mindlessly following a formula and never thinking of what they said or did.
Thank you for a lovely post. It is posts like these that give us hope of a better understanding between the two countries. Let us talk peace instead of dumming war drums.
The scum are on both sides and the motives are the same. Poin5 outwards so people do not see the rot thatcis setting in inside by these very people for their own petty gains. We have lived together for a thousand years. Lets make it another harmonious thousand years.
At least we can hope.

Total: 14. Each SAR unit in the PAF has around 2 Alouette IIis.

. .
Breakfast was porridge, bacon and eggs, and two slices of bread, two cups of coffee.

Green chilis? Scheduled for dinner, with dry potato curry; the green chilis are to be sliced and put into the spices before introducing the potatoes.

Just now, I'm overfed and happy.
Make sure you don't eat too many green chilis it will affect your back when you get up in morning.
