Pakistan Male UAV official Specs

I wondered, could this MALE UAV with an AESA radar act as a Mini AWACS and transfer data via link 17 to JF-17s without them having to turn on their radars?

Drone can scan and look for targets and send info for engagment to JF-17. If it gets shot down or jammed you aren't losing a asset as significant as a fighter.

Yes, that is what AWACS are for, but just thinking of a general idea for all air forces.

The power available will not allow for such an application I think. It will most likely be something like picoSAR.

About a year ago, when I said that you have a lot to learn, you scoffed at it, how do you meet the energy of an AESA type radar with an engine that produces a maximum power of 200 HP at sea level?

It would likely need a much stronger engine on a bigger UAV or a AESA radar that requires less power.

Something weird though is that the PAC brochure mentions that the AESA radar will be used on a MALE UAV. Unless they develop a stronger UAV or smaller radar that shouldn't be possible.

Also, clear pic of the new target drone. Tbh, we can't (management notwithstanding) be that far off from a loyal wingman drone concept if we combine the HSTD (let's keep the name ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)) and ALCM work. @JamD

zRi robotics? LRi robotics??

I know that the FCS of this thing is COTS. This picture may suggest the airframe is too. That's totally fine and great. No need to reinvent the wheel.

1. PAC doesn't do ALCMs (stupid compartmentalization in Pakistan) and are quite inexperienced in everything right now.
2. Like I said HSTD is mostly COTS.

So we are kind of far away from a loyal wingman drone. But we are closer to a loyal wingman than an FGFA, that's for sure.

Maybe ZGI Robotics? Found a bunch of people with relevant skill set working in ZGI robotics on LinkedIn.

. . . . .
It does exist in full size prototypes I think.

@JamD if he finds out a private company designs, builds and test-flies a NGFA prototype in Pakistan.

Things slowly taking the right course. Sherani involved in making drone assembly rigs, ZGI seem to be contracted to design the HSTD. A private firm starting work on micro turbines. Baby steps in the right direction.
If Solunux's miniature turbojet can power a target drone, it can likely power a miniature cruise missile too. Just saying. We (collectively, but without compartmentalization and leadership issues) aren't far from making loitering munitions and other asymmetrical weapons.
