According to sources, Pakistan is reportedly planning to display up to three JF-17 Thunder fighter aircraft during Paris Air Show, which will be held from 15 to 21 June 2015. One of the aircraft is also supposed to perform flight demo. Although JF-17 Programme Management Office has confirmed its presence at the air show, no Pakistani official has so far confirmed the information.

The JF-17 was displayed internationally for the first time at the 2010 Farnborough Airshow; aerial displays at the show were intended but were cancelled due to a late attendance decision as well as license and insurance costs.

First 8 Chinese-built fighters were delivered to Pakistan in 2007 – 2008. In 2009 an order was signed for a further 42 fighters. These were license-produced locally by Pakistan Aeronautical Complex. By 2013 Pakistan Air Force operated 50 of these aircraft and production continues. Domestic orders for the JF-17 are potentially as high as 250.

The PAC JF-17 Thunder, or CAC FC-1 Xiaolong (Fierce Dragon), is a light-weight, single-engine, multi-role combat aircraft developed jointly by the Pakistan Air Force, the Pakistan Aeronautical Complex (PAC) and the Chengdu Aircraft Industries Corporation (CAC) of China. The first JF-17 prototype aircraft (called FC-1) was rolled out in May 2003. It made its first flight in August 2003.
