Pakistan - Iran gas Pipeline , a simple Answer to gas shortages and Balochistan energy needs

Gwadar already gets its electricity from Iran.

Pakistani side of Balochistan is powered by Iran.

Might as well finish the job and connect IP pipeline already.

Saudis have nothing o do with it, Saudi Arabia does not export gas and thus has no ax to grind.

Why do we keep forgetting that Iran is still the US under sanctions? Pakistan has no money to build the pipeline and because of sanctions, no international bank is willing to finance the project and suffer the US wrath. Chinese could do it but the IPI pipeline has no relation with the CPEC project.

Pakistan chose to import gas in shape of LNG, forget about its high price tag including transfer and other factors, did you know that if a war breaks out between Pakistan and India, India's blue water navy will destroy any ship that tries to reach Pakistani coastlines?

I just wonder which moron is in charge of Pakistan's energy Sector and why he/she opted for Qatari LNG. One thing for sure, Pakistan won't get rid of energy instability. Moreover the pipeline that was built on Iranian side changed its direction to Balochistan cities of Iran. The project is already gone as it seems.

Sir,

Your argument is valid but Pakistan's share of the pipeline the total pipeline cost was about $2.2-billion in 2013 dollars.

" the required financing to complete the IPI pipeline segment which Iran will construct (1,157 kilometres) amounts to an estimated cost of $3 billion. The Pakistani segment of the pipeline, having a length of 1,035 kilometres, is estimated to cost $2.2 billion. India must construct 300 kilometres at an estimated cost of $0.65 billion through its own territory to connect to its existing gas pipeline network. "

To the best of my info the current cost of an average gas pipeline is close to $-5-million per Km, this translates to about $5-billion for a 1,000 Km pipeline. Even if we assume it to be say $-4-billion; does Pakistan have this much money to spare? Because the project would take about 2-3 years to complete and additional funds for the import of LNG will be required in the meantime.

The people in charge of Pakistan's energy sector may be duffers, but in the absence of any international company willing to finance the project due to sanctions, and Pakistan with no funds of her own, pray tell what the Pakistan gov't should do?

How much money is needed that we cant spare anything for such an important project

Like few 100billion rupees

What abt the GIDS that is now used for south north pipeline

.
Biden just waived the sanctions on the Russian Pipeline to Europe. Now is the time to get this Iranian pipeline to China through Pakistan built. Make it a fait accompli before the end of the Biden term and it will be a status quo issue.

I Would Propose Funds Received Under Roshan Digital Accounts Be Utilized. We Are Getting Naya Pakistan Certificates At 7% For Dollar Inflows. Why Not Use That.

Also Why Use Dollars. Our Company Is More Than Capable Of Laying Down High Pressure Pipelines

Why Not Hire Their Services And Pay Them In Rupees
