Shut down the the airline. Sell the junk they have. Send the million useless, lazy, incompetent employees home. And save the poor Pakistan taxpayer $ billions every year. That would be billions of dollars more for 1,000s of schools, 100s of hospitals, 10s of JF-Thunders, new high speed rail line from Peshawar, Islamabad, Lahore, Multan, Karachi etc etc.

And the customers like us in UK might get more choice and better service.

PIA( Paindoo air line ) is getting worse day by day ...Wish we had any alternative choice as right now there is no direct flight to Pakistan except PIA..

It seem PIA cannot get young air hostess as all you see is either aunty or uncle with long beards

Are they so bad? What about the food, the airplanes, the prices? What are their plans for expansion?

A company with a good management, good costomer service and a new fleet is a must for a country with 210 million people like Pakistan- a country with 10 million more in the diaspora as potential clients.
There is so much potential for growth and for making money in your country but unfortunately it seems that your politicians are bad, bad, bad...

Yes they are. PIA has turned into a job generating machine. A place where incompetent, ugly, pass sell by date, inefficent, lazy but connected people can log on for their pay cheques and cushy retirment pensions.

I have travelled to Pakistan via PIA just week ago. People with family has no choice but to opt for direct flight.

I was surprised to meet cricketer umar gul, sohail tanvir, Professor Pervez hoodbhoy in economy class. Professor sahib was shouting and having heated argument with one gentleman over breaking queue just like typical Pakistani .Travelling via PIA is always more tiring experience than before ... poor management, poor service , poor aircraft with plenty of useless staffs . PIA used to be great but it has been died long ago


PIA has second worst employee to aircraft ratio after Syrian air. It has 14,000+ employees, as per 2015 report. Global website airfleets net reports only 32 active aircraft for PIA, translating into an employee to aircraft ratio of 446, which is almost four times higher than Air India and six to seven times more than Turkish Airlines.

Employees’ costs reported by PIA in 2015 were Rs16.9 billion. When welfare, social security costs, retirement benefits and compensated absences were added, these amounted to Rs21+ billion. Additionally, another Rs7 billion of employee-related costs were reported as distribution and administrative costs. These Rs28+ billion claimed 27% of net revenues. Interestingly, Emirates, with its internationally competitive salaries and world-class service, spent almost half, in terms of percentage, on its employees in 2015. There is a need to immediately rationalise PIA’s unproductive massive workforce. Air India, which faced a similar challenge, successfully reduced its workforce by more than 60% in just two years.

Oh I remember the glory years of the 80's.....
It's just a huge ball and chain on the Pakistani taxpayer now. I haven't flown it in years. It's emirates, Singapore or Air NZ for me. I just value space and good service over anything.

These are ok for single person but sadly these air line offer no direct flight to Pakistan and go via dubai or other routes which make this journey longer . we used to have british airways offering direct flight to Pakistan but dont know why it got stopped ..

I love PIA but we need to find who is stealing the money from the firm ?

Last 5-7 Years international airlines have made a killing all big investors made billions by investing in Airlines becasue oil was historically low world wide and people were Travelling lot of places.

When PIA had shortage of planes , Government allowed some open access to international Airlines to operate in Pakistan, mysteriously it was under Nawaz Sharif's time when shortages occured due to no orders for planes

However with arrival of New planes, that shortage does not exist
Anti-PIA move need to be reversed

Also the company needs to work with a International Consulting firm to reverse it's Operation figures to propose changes


Recently internal politics created a issue about sale of some old rusty plane to Junk yard , because no one buys a old plane. Which caused the German CEO to leave the post due to internal politics and these kind of issues really have hampered the growth of company

Yes pravah its fun when travelling alone but when you are with lil kids then you wish to reach to your destination as quickly as possible because they tease you a lot during journey

Single person should not travel in PIA which is family airline where you get so much noise, screaming of lil kids and old aunty chaatting in loud voices hahah
