The taxes ended by the government are now being enjoyed by the conpancom.

. . .
the prices were similar in India too just about 3 years ago, but then Reliance launched Jio....rest is history.
Whereas for data i used to do a recharge of ₹248, 1 GB per month, in addition to talktime and rate cutters, total coming to ₹400 a month.
Now I just do a monthly recharge of ₹200 and that gives me 1.5GB 4G data per day for 28 days, unlimited free local and std calls (no roaming) and 100 sms per day for 28 days.
Jio impact was so brutal that Airtel is suffering loss, Idea and vodafone couldn't fight it separately so merged and aircel is out of the market.

Reliance is loosing money attempting to monopolize the industry. And the Indian government has choose Ambani's side, largely due to his "lobbying" of Politicians, of the $35+ Billion gamble.

The competitors remaining in India aren't going to call it quits given the $tens of Billions they themselves have invested. So the price war will go on until Jio decides to raise prices, which the competitors aren't guaranteed to follow suit ?Suite?.

Regardless, Jio is pretty 'modern' by global industry standards. The only telecom using entirely 4G with no backups?

Also regardless, telecoms are an amazing sight of 'leapfrog development'. Since the vast majority of India can avail the mobile phone to conduct all aspects of business with anyone in Antarctica.

Pakistan is most expensive country of the world and it's because of taxes.
I hope Pakistan's get in return also the best of world social system.

.
It all boils down to couple of different factors. Pakistan's National ISP's monoply (Largest national ISP's in Pakistan are PTCL and Transworld associate, no 3rd ISP comes close to them in terms of adjacency and prefixes in their routing tables), Government taxation model and Telecom sector monoply. EU has something called Fair competition law which ensure maintenance of competition and prevent companies to create monoply.
