Pakistan has magnificent culture: UNESCO director

ISLAMABAD: United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) Regional Director Dr Kim Gwang-Jo, along with his entourage, paid a visit to Lok Virsa (National Institute of Folk and Traditional Heritage) at Shakaparian on Saturday. Upon arrival, the distinguished delegate was received by senior museum officers who showed him various displays at the Pakistan National Museum of Ethnology, popularly known as the Heritage Museum. The museum depicts Pakistan’s living cultural traditions and lifestyles of the people and also shows several cultural links and influences with other friendly countries. He was explained about the functioning role of Lok Virsa as a leading cultural institution in Pakistan, which operates under the public sector and deals with documentation, preservation and dissemination of the tangible and intangible cultural heritage with an extensive network of community-based organisations, regional associations, NGOs, intellectuals, researchers, folk artists, master artisans and above all the citizens of the country. Dr Gwang-Jo took keen interest in the museum displays, particularly the dioramas on ‘zardozi work’ – needle work on bridal dresses, silk thread gallery, display of traditional costumes, architectural crafts such as mirror work, fresco work and tile mosaic work and the beautiful wooden carved doors collected from old houses (havelis) from different localities in rural Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. There was also a live musical performance by folk artists and rural musicians for the UNESCO delegation.

i guess no buddy here tell u abt those negetive thiings as well but u guys spend hours daily to search tht

it just depend on ur intrests & thinking whhich side u see half glass full or half empty....

Well people from both sides do that, so no need to blame others for everything. Nothing wrong in applouding good things about others(I have verified and this has been published in mainstream newspaper, not some blog).
