The four-lane road via Jalalabad and Torkham covers 265 kilometers and the land acquisition process will be initiated after the finalization of the alignment, according to a report by Business Recorder paper.

The motorway project will not only improve connectivity between the two neighboring countries and Central Asian states but would also bring economic prosperity in the adjacent areas, the report said citing an identified official from Pakistan’s National Highway Authority.

Meaningless road really. This money would be spent wiser by going for something else. All roads to Afghanistan lead to problems and misery.

I dont know why we are wasting money on afghanis when we know it is all a waste of resources. Afghanistan will remain a hell hole for decades to come and we dont have time to waste on them.

Just seal the border and get on with your lives.

Kabul is extension of Peshawar or Pakistan....things will start shifting towards Prosperity...Inshallah
.
According to Seer Naimatullah ....Afghans will join hands with Pakistan...thats now going to happen

Don't leave it to InshAllah bro... You'll be disappointed.
I will quote you....one wonderful statement by Ahsen Iqbal....which translates as...."In modern times....you cannot build an ISLAND OF FORTUNE {isolated from rest} free from all worries......sooner or later you've to join hands in vicinity to prosper"

I'm all for building bridges and prosperity. I also would like to be an optimist. History teaches us that Afghanistan has a troubled tribal society. Too many factors at play. Realistically, we ought to spend every dime on projects which have a good return of investment. A road to Afghanistan isn't a good investment. The road to Afghanistan will bring in more opium, AK-47 and militancy.

Most of Afghan people wants friend ship with India not to Pakistan then why Govt of Pakistan plane to extend its motorway to Kabul? there is no any treaty between Afghanistan & Pakistan to provide them route to gawadar or India or sea.We have no need of them they have need of us. Pakistan should not increase friend ship with Afghanistan because India will use this friend ship for Afghan India route.

Like many of the posters here, I think it would be a great step but integrating parts of Pakistan with each other should have priority. It's not even like Pakistanis is being encouraged by Afghans -- Pakistani hi been bajatay jaa rahain chain

Good initiative... but I am sure this will be a waste of resources if the road does not connect/extend to a big port city like Karachi or Gwadar...

India won't be allowed any access through Pakistan to Afghanistan in the foreseeable future. We can be rest assured about that.

We should first focus on realities, extra curriculum activities/predictions can be left for free time. And currently we need to build infrastructure within country and safe connectivity to central Asia, And we can achieve that via China-Tajikistan and Iran, although these routes will not be short & cheap as Afghanistan but still better than burning little funds we have.

Correct me if I am wrong, now it take 5 hours to get to Kabul from Peshawar. After motorway is build in will be reduced to just over 2 hours.
