Pakistan goes to OIC against India

After the Indian Supreme Court verdict regarding the historic Babri Masjid, Foreign Secretary Sohail Mahmood on November 13 briefed the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) resident ambassadors in Islamabad on the issue.

Briefly describing the events that lead to the verdict, Sohail Mahmood pointed out that the ruling failed to uphold the demands of justice, shredded the facade of secularism of India. He further elucidated the vulnerabilities and mistreatment of the minorities in India, particularly Muslims at the hands of a extremist “Hindutva” RSS ideology. Babri Masjid demolition has been on the agenda of the OIC since 1992, it has been addressed in numerous resolutions and declarations, including at the summit level.

Earlier on November 9, Dr. Mohammad Faisal had said that the decision had once again failed to uphold the demands of justice.

In a statement issued by the FO, Dr. Faisal said, “This decision has shredded the veneer of so-called secularism of India by making clear that minorities in India are no longer safe; they have to fear for their beliefs and for their places of worship.”

On 9 November, Indian Supreme Court gave the decision of Babri Masjid. A five-seat of judges composed; a Hindu Temple would be built there, as it was Ram’s Janmabhoomi, where Hindus accept the God was conceived. Also, a plot will be allotted for Muslims, as an alternative.

It is to recollect; the 16 century assembled masjid in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, was being diminished to tidy by Hindu extremist, the RSS in 1992. Current Pm Modi stayed a hot part and the significant supporter of RSS’s hypothesis of “Akhand India”.

The primary decision on Babri Masjid originated from Allahabad High Court, on 30 September 2010, as per, 33% of the contested land was given to Muslims, furthermore, the other to Hindus. The assertion; the contested land was the origination of Rama according to the confidence and conviction of Hindus, was likewise written in the principal administering out of the case. Where Babri Masjid was built after the destruction of the temple.

Two Questions :

1. Why the situation in China is NOT on OIC Agenda.
2. Why does Pakistan doesnt Run to OIC when Chinese Muslims area Sterlized , Forced to sleep with non muslims ?

1: They have paved down some old buildings and erected new blocks. Yes it is lost of heritage. But lets say, they are not democratic.

I support Pakistan's effort in this regard. It is very promising indeed.

No. Such things only work the first time around. At the end of the day, nationalism doesn't mean squat if you can't deliver on bread and butter issues: kapra, roti, and bijili. BJP will actually have to work hard on the economy if it is to control the government.

Who cares if the OIC declared it a Muslim Heritage Site? What about the thousands of mandirs that were destroyed in Muslim invasions? Will OIC compensate India?

Mughals are no longer there to compensate for any temple destroyed during their rule over India.

OIC has Babri Masjid as an Agenda item ever since 1992. OIC countries are concerned of India exporting the communal violence to their countries. We have seen incidents in UAE between different Indian communities.

Just because you do not follow up on OIC closely does not mean it is not working for Syria and Yemen or Kurds or Arabs.

Ayodha is not a trivial matter but a matter of Muslim heritage in India as Islam continues to be painted as an invading force in the country.

I think by now world bodies know better than to involve themselves in the Indo-pak diplomatic slugfest.

Pak will take India's case to OIC, India will do so. Statements will be made.

Fact remains this and Kashmir are India's internal affairs. And world will all but just comment and "express" concern.

You'll get nothing more because

a) because Pakistan goes over the top while expressing concern against India, which is off putting. no one likes a scare monger.

b) India is diplomatically much more important to many nations. So while they will want to ensure nothing wrong is happening, they will leave it up to us to handle those situations.

Good luck to Imran to keep doing such efforts. Because they do seem to be catering to his home audience.
