Pakistan GDP expected 1.78% for financial this year

. . . .
Pakistan should be lucky to have anything in positive growth after the massive flood, energy crisis, political turmoil, rising inflation and falling currency.

what's indian gdp to be expected?

for poor countries growth below 5% means they are getting poorer considering the inflation...those who say we will eat grass but not give up on some x factor, their wish may come true for millions of poor ppl if such dismal economic performance continues

.

From 5.97% in march 2022 to 1.78% Dec 2022 What a performance.
That seems wildly optimistic. The most optimistic estimate anyone can hope for is 0%. Reality is, it will be negative. The question is how bad. SBP said they can't even give an estimate, which I think is code for "it is a big negative"

The SBP avoided providing any range for the growth rate of the current financial year apparently due to the worsening economic situation. Industries have either shut down or drastically cut their production due to high inflation and the unavailability of gas and electricity.

Pakistan should establish renewable industry; particularly solar panel industry since Pakistan has huge land and many people living in houses rather than apartment buildings. Very potential industry that has huge future prospect. This can also save many USD from imported fossil fuel.

issue with renewable energy say Solar is up front investment which is quite high...i studied the cost and roi to install solar pv system on my house's roof top, but it didnt make any economic sense, it would have taken 7-10 years to recover the cost against monthly consumption...and not everyone can afford initial investment..i dropped the plan for now and will wait for PV prices to drop further.

The government must take the lead. Government own project, there many land in Pakistan that can be used. Government invites foreign investors to invest in the solar panel industry and make a deal with certain project from government that will make them see the investment as profitable. Any way, the labor cost in Pakistan is also cheaper than in many countries.

EV industry infrastructure also must be set up, step by step. So hopefully electricity will use renewable and the cars and motor cyles will not use imported oil any more
