Pakistan film fans prepare for Waar | World news | guardian.co.uk

It claims to not only be the most anticipated film in the history of Pakistan, but to be based on true events. And, for once, the Hollywood-style hyperbole can be excused. The feature-length action thriller called Waar ("to strike" in Urdu) is eagerly awaited, despite being out of tune with the trend for movies packed with singing and dancing.

Apparently it's sometime this month, or sometime in March. I'm not really sure, but it's somewhere there.

It can go into April though.

Excellent. Pakistan needs to claims its legitimate place in movie industry. We have plenty of talent in the entertainment industry.

And you must thank India for it.

Because of our films more and more cinemas are opening and renovating in pakistan.

And now its viable to run a cinema house in pakistan as they recovers all of their cost by running Indian movies.

And as pakistani distributors and cinema owners earns money from Indian movies they can now spend some into make films in pakistan.

Good for pakistan.

Any trailer of this movie Waar?????????????????????? :meeting:

The correct word is "javedaN" جاویداں, which is of Persian origin and it means immortal or eternal.

Forget the Indians, even the majority of those whose mother tongue is Urdu will not be able to tell you the correct meaning of most of the words of Arabic or Persian origin.

I don't think so. Those of us who speak Urdu as their first language find such words elementary that a student of 8th grade should have learnt.
