Pakistan ambassador to UAE is Permanent Representative of Pakistan to Irena
Pakistan’s Ambassador to the UAE, Asif Durrani, presented his credentials as Permanent Representative of Pakistan to the International Renewable Energy Agency (Irena) headquarters in Abu Dhabi on Saturday.
Irena Director-General Adnan Z. Ameen received the appointment, saying Pakistan’s Permanent Representative would ensure enhanced collaboration between Pakistan and Irena, not only in policy and technology development, but also lead to a partnership towards greater use of renewable energy as an indigenous, clean and abundant resource.
Durrani reiterated Pakistan’s full support for Irena since mainstreaming renewable energy is Pakistan’s priority. He added that the Pakistan government’s focus is on diversifying energy resources, which include hydropower, natural gas, coal and nuclear energy, besides renewables such as solar, wind and biomass energy to meet the growing energy demands of the country.
