Hi guys been a long time lurker. Anyways i have donated and will be donating to the dam fund every week £30 (4,500 rupees).
I have a really good idea and it is also reasonable. In order to achieve the required dam fund and also for other things such as sanitation and a cleanliness drive in the country. So to generate $5 billion dollars a year from donations...
Population of Pakistan: 220 million
Population of Pakistanis abroad (ex pats): 2 million
Yearly Target: $5 billion
If every single Pakistani abroad donated just 10,000 PKR every month,that would be a total of: 20,000,000,000 PKR
If 30 million Pakistanis out of 220 million donated 1,070 PKR a month that would be a total of: 32,083,333,333
In Total we can collect: 52,083,333,333 PKR a month and over 12 months that would be 625 billion rupees which is $5 billion a year.
Now 10,000 pkr for overseas Pakistanis like myself is literally peanuts and easily achieveable. As for the Pakistanis living in Pakistan, i know not every one is well off or has a job hence i chose 30 million out of 220 million. 30 million of 220 million is the equivalent of 1 out of every 7.33 people. So basically 1 person out of every 7 people needs to make a donation of just 1,070 a month which should be really easy.
I think there needs to be a major media campaign in order to breakdown the figures so it looks like a easier task collectively.
If you look at it this way it is really easy to achieve a target of $5 billion just from donations and i think every single one of us should do it for the better future of our country.
