President Asif Ali Zardari of Pakistan has conferred his country’s highest military award — Nishan-e-Imtiaz — on Chief of Staff of the UAE Armed Forces Lt-General Hamad Mohamed Thani Al Romaithi in recognition of his meritorious and dedicated service in strengthening cooperation between the UAE and Pakistani armed forces.
Following his decoration ceremony, Lt-Gen Al Romaithi conveyed to Zardari greetings of the President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and General Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces. During his visit, Lt-Gen Al Romaithi met with his Pakistani counterpart General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani and other senior military officials.

PPP needs to slow down with the award give away, give them 5 more years and Manmohan Singh might get something.

All they are doing is building support with those that influence Pakistani economy and political maneuvering.
Which is quite smart actually.

With Highest Military award?

Last time Rehman Malik wanted to make COAS Field Marshal.

If you have heard about UAE wanting to pull out its investment deal of $44 billion in that Karachi complex. This sort of "flattery" makes sense.

If you think the $44 billion deal is for real, you have a lot to learn. MOUs have no contractual obligations and usually they are not worth the paper they are written on.

YAY! award for UAE for giving our bases to the Americans to carry out drone strikes within Pakistan. :yahoo:

Exactly the same I was thinking..WTF have these people done to deserve military award? PPP is just abusing authority.
Zardari is earning himself a safe home in Dubai shall the events go astray nothing else.

Shame on our a55 kissing politicians....!

They! who They? it was a decision of an individual.... called Asif ALi Zardari... no institution was involved and neither any referendum was held.

Going by your logic.... If this award can effect Pakistan economy... than please send few hundred more... and why limit to UAE only?

I see no reason to believe in your rhetorics.

The deal's junking has been related to the Pipeline deal.

You mean the UAE is against the Iran-Pak pipeline? Then why would Zardari confer the award in one place but go to Iran to launch the pipeline?
