Pakistan-China Joint Exercise "Shaheen VII - 2018"

.
yes, for pure deep strike dedicated fighter, we kept on highlighting the capabilities of jh-7b which appears to be in progress.
The PAF prefers multi role strike systems. The JH-7 is a strike focused aircraft that is a sitting duck against air targets. If the PAF just wanted another Mirage it would have gone for the JH-7. This debate has been settled years ago with the Tornado going up against even older generation light fighters and despite having all aspect missiles and electronic measures it would end up on the losing end of the fight.
The advantage the Tornado had was to hit the deck and run, something the JH-7 is not capable of pulling off and is why the PLAAF is focusing on its replacement; no JH-7B abound.

Thanks a lot and as already mentioned, if there's a will to expand my permission to moderate threads - at least to merge and bring some structure into the JF-17 section - I would be glad to help.

This year's China-Pakistan joint international air exercise dubbed Shaheen-VII kicked off at a Pakistan air force base, Times of Islamabad reported on Sunday.

China's Air Force has sent a number of aircrafts to take part in the exercise, including several J-10C fighters.
The joint exercises are due to last 24 days.

The J-10C is an improved version of China's J-10 fighter. It is equipped with an Active Electronically Steered Array system (AESA), as well as an opto-electronic detection system to improve combat situations. The J-10C was activated for combat duty in April, 2018.

"The J-10C is more capable of locating targets. The new technology on-board gives it an edge during an air-to-air combat," said Wang Zhiming, a Chinese military specialist. "The J-10C is a significant upgrade to the Chinese Air Force, and significantly improves China's air defenses."

"This year's Shaheen-VII exercise will enhance bilateral military and political ties, and will help enhance the capability of the air forces of the two friendly neighbors," said Commodore Syed Muhammad Ali with the Pakistan Air Force.

Next year's "Shaheen" air exercises, which have been annual events since 2011, will be held in China.
Sir,
Can you confirm news:
1) PAF actually paid for the J-10 with DSI as J10-B was not adequate for Pakistan. President Musharraf was the one who signed the contract.
2) The J-10C that the PLAAF's current J-10C's are PAF aircraft but stationed in China. One of the Pakistani Minister quoted this statement.

These statements were approximately 7-8 yrs back.

I really wish PAF buys J-10C and Replace ageing Mirages with it

Frankly.... the J-10’s induction would bring an immense challenge to maintenance and logistical network and to invest in such a maintenance channel for only few aircrafts is not worth it specially if J-10 parallel capabilities are already existed in PAF so Pakistan should go for J-20 its a big ticket but worth of it and it could turn the table and as a replacement of old aircraft JF-17s upcoming blocks are sufficient keeping in view the country's economic conditions

It's not about parallel capabilities instead replacing ageing fleet with potent and available aircraft

J-20 is not for export thinking about it is waste of time
JF-17 is a light Multirole Fighter whereas J-10 is a medium multirole fighter

As per sources in PAF and China both are trying to convince the govt to purchase initial 2 squadrons of J-10C (36) as stopgap for 5th Gen and also give support to Thunder which has limitations in range and ordinance. We shall wait and see. Favourable financing is available. But depends on overall economy.

But there was a news PAF was not interested in J-10C

.
J-10C is medium weight fighter which is not a Thunder and is much needed as a stop GAP until we get our 5th gen fighter in the near future any of you who seem to think otherwise have no clue what's going on sorry.

But there was a news PAF was not interested in J-10C

There was never any conformed news regarding no interest in J-10C just air puffed news, we need this aircraft very badly !!

.
more like Israel AF F-16I, but even better technology for PAF in twin seat J-10C with TV engine and CFT will just do it .
