Pakistan Certified To Repair SAAB AWACS

Pac and paf are same org . We gice them 4 saab they destroyed 1 damaged 2 and then repaired 2 1 lost .so they are not hero hero

Sir PAF's responsibility is to guard the airspace and its bases.
PAC's responsibility is to manufacture and maintain the aircrafts.

Blaming PAC on PAF's base security failure is blaming your grand father is your child breaks window glass while playing. Kindly review your comment and think with segregation according to the roles and responsibilities of both organizations.

no body blame PAC its PAF fault and PAC is the part of PAF . it was same base pac/paf minhas where mess happened

I don't understand these dumb brains:-/ all the appreciation for ENGINEERS, and these engineers were not and are not responsible for security of base. be sure that PAF engineer achieved this milestone, and deserve this .

Salaam

Such a strange thread.

Our engineers managed to accomplish something exceptional - after our security lapse during a war situation left some assets damaged.

Mistakes were made and lessons were hopefully learnt. I'd understand the criticism if the PAF hadn't made any changes to the security protocols. However, I've not seen any indication of this posted here.

At the end of the day, there are limitations as to what can be done reasonably within given constraints in terms of security precautions.

What doesn't kill you, makes you stronger. That attack didn't kill us, it helped us improve our understanding greatly about these systems we operate. It also helped us improve the security of other facilities.

I see that attack as a blessing in disguise. Better at that time then during a war scenario when we actually needed these assets.

rest assure even when a rifle pin or a magazine is lost in military somebody has to pay the price for it. its not lahore high court that people will manage to slip away. they were dealt with as well as all the attackers, none lives today not the helpers not their bosses
Whether they live or not, it was a security lapse of mammoth proportion, one I hope we never see again. We are in a state of war whether overt or covert, we cannot afford such losses.

The third one has either been replaced or is in the process of being replaced. Agree on the security lapse, but seriously disagree on PAC efforts. The silver lining is the capacity to do in house repairs/maintenance/upgrades. This is a big plus and the money saved would be significant.

While a security lapse is not the preferred way to develop such repair abilities, the fact that they now exist is a good thing. :D

Sir I believe you are not understanding my point.

Its regardless whether PAC is under PAF or the same PAC base was attacked or not.

Point is that PAC has nothing to do with security.

PAC's job is to manufacture and maintain the aircrafts and they did it exceptionally.

Security compromise was done on the PAF's side. so just dont wipe them out nin same blanket, whoever did good should be appreciated.

Correct. Pakistani military should never have allowed an attack on 3 strategic military assets like AWACS in the first place.

Not sure why the military is trying so hard to come back as hero's from this colossal blunder.
Right .that is surely a blunder ...why tgere was no inquiry regarding this failure of security forces ???

why do you think that there was no inquiry ????
and why do you think that if you dont know about it than it means that there was no inquiry???

. .
If there was an inquiry it was suppose to be known to the general public after all its there money from which such high end expensive weapons are purchased, and who ever did this and who ever neglected prior intelligence reports should be given appropriate punishment and well in the knowledge of general public

Military inquiries are never made public specially about such sensitive issues. And please cut this their money our money crap, we all know how many people in Pakistan pay there taxes, hell even half of those tax payers are the uniformed and services people

Taxes paid or not the money no matter from where it comes or even if it is borrowed is the property of the government of Pakistan and the government is a civilian body under which all the institutions come even the military and the ISI, but that's only written in the books not a practice here.
