RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa, on Sunday visited Line of Control (LOC) at Haji Pir Sector.

The COAS appreciated the operational preparedness and high morale of troops and said that Indian aggression and frustration vents at the people of Indian Occupied Kashmir (IOK) and Pakistani villages along LOC and Working Boundary, “but we must keep our response purely in military domain in accordance with our values,” according to Inter Services Public Relations press release here.

“The violence perpetuated by Indian Forces in IOK is state-sponsored terrorism by all definitions. This violence riles up passions on this side of the LOC as well as people of Pakistan cannot remain indifferent to the barbaric treatment. meted out to defenceless Kashmiris including women and children.

“The Kashmiris have a right to live without fear and repression. We will always stand by their rightful political struggle for the right of self-determination and recourse to basic human rights,” he said.

Earlier, on arrival the COAS was received by Commander Rawalpindi Corps Lieutenant General Nadeem Raza and General Officer Commanding Murree.

The COAS was briefed on situation along LOC, ceasefire violations and operational readiness of the formation.

Nobody over here cares what Bajwa says.

And entire Pakistan and Kashmirs do care what Bajwa says. This is yet another aspect which shows India belongs no where in Pakistan-Kashmir equation.

COAS Bajwa is stating the obvious, but unless there's international or domestic pressure on India to settle Kashmir issue, nothing will happen.

Islamabad: Pakistan's Army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Sunday visited the Line of Control (LoC) and said his country would continue to support the "political struggle" of the Kashmiris for the right of "self-determination". Bajwa, who toured the areas in the Haji Pir sector, was briefed about the alleged "ceasefire violation" by the Indian troops and the state of preparedness of the army to face any aggression.

The army chief said Pakistan would continue to support the struggle of the Kashmiris.

"We will always stand by their (Kashmiris) rightful political struggle for the right of self-determination and recourse to basic human rights," Bajwa said in an interaction with troops. He accused India of "state-sponsored" terrorism in Kashmir.

Bajwa alleged that India was not only involved in aggression against the people in Kashmir but also against the people living on the Pakistani side of the LoC and the Working Boundary. India has repeatedly rejected Pakistan's allegations of rights violations in Kashmir.
