Bangladesh, Pakistan, Afghanistan cricket teams/staff under serious security threat during India's ICC World T20 2016.
The Bangladesh, Pakistan and Afghanistan cricket are under security threat in India, say Kolkata police. Bangladesh Pakistan and Afghanistan are scheduled to tour India for the ICC World T20 2016. The Pakistan team is still awaiting the permission of their government to give them permission to travel to India for the World Cup.
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Shahryar Khan has also made a request with the ICC that Pakistan be given permission to play their matches at neutral venues, due to security concerns.
According to reports, it is believed that the Bangladesh, Pakistan and Afghanistan teams could be attacked by some religious parties and groups. The Kolkata police is believed to be taking adequate security measures leading up to the tournament.
The Kolkata police have said that a faction of a few religious political parties may be tempted to attack the teams when they assemble in India for the upcoming World T20 2016.
The Kolkata police also have a reputation of taking the security detail of each and every team that comes into the city very seriously. Therefore, it can be assumed that the best of security will certainly be provided for the teams. Reports also suggest that all the three teams will be staying at the same hotel to minimize the probability of an attack.
The Kolkata Cricket Association (KCA) also reportedly informed the media that tanks will also be provided at the premise of the Eden Gardens in order to ensure a peaceful World T20.
During South African tour of India, South African players were attacked by violent Indian crowds and recently Argentinian team was attacked.
