MULTAN: Pakistan Army tested its air defense system by hitting the drone on Monday.

Pakistan Army tested its air defense to hit the drone in Muzaffargarh Khudai range. Pakistan Army's air defense hit three drones successfuly.

Lieutenant General Ashraf Saleem said that Pakistan air defense is capable to hit the drone and all other fighter aircraft. He also added that Pakistan has advance and modern air defense system and Pakistan’s air defense system is capable to defend the air space of the country

RBS already tested and RBS not suitable to take on high altitude targets becoz its usual role is to take on anything on medium range and drones usually fly at very high alltitudes and RBS 70 inducted 2 years before no more tests on RBS has to be spada 2000 becoz it is medium range target finder sam system.

Anti Air Craft Batteries are generally static and do not have the high mobility of an aircraft that would be required to first detect, locate and then neutralize in the air.

It was the annual or semi annual PA Air Defence exercises, in which MANPADs and Aak Aak guns are used as PA AD units are mostly equipped with these systems. The croatle & SPADA are with PAF.

Each year, hand held drones or little bit bigger ones are used for different firing practices.

And these poor drones flying not very high get shot down, at heights where these guns and MANPADs are effective.

Army Air Defence exercises skills in near to real environment


ISLAMABAD, Nov 24 (APP)- Pakistan Army Air Defence on Monday conducted their annual practice fire exercise at Sonmiani Air Defence Ranges. Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani visited the ranges and witnessed fining of anti-aircraft guns and short range surface to air missile.

Commander Army Air Defence Command, Lieutenant General Ashraf Saleem was also present at the occasion.

The elements of Army Air Defence demonstrated their shooting skills by engaging different targets.

The precision and accuracy in marksmanship with surface to air Anza Mark II missile, 37 mm upgraded guns, 35 mm Oerlikon guns, 57 mm guns and RBs -70 missiles was greatly appreciated.

The aim of the exercise was to provide live fire experience to Air Defence gunners and missile crews under near real tactical environment and handling of weapons and equipment during firing.

Talking to the troops, the Chief of Army Staff, General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani, emphasized that excellence in training is the key to enhancement of operational preparedness.

Appreciating the firing standards displayed by the Air Defenders, he assured that all available means will be utilized to improve the operational capability of the Army in accordance with prevailing and future operational environment.

The COAS emphasized that the troops should devote themselves fully towards enhancing their professional skills and maintaining high state of preparedness.
