Pakistan Army Says It Killed 3,400 Militants Since June 2014

• Pakistan's military says it has achieved "phenomenal successes" in the war against terrorism by killing 3,400 "terrorists" since 2014, when it launched a major operation in a tribal region near Afghanistan.
  
  Army spokesman Lt. Gen. Asim Saleem Bajwa said in a statement Saturday that security forces are currently clearing out the "last pockets" of insurgents in the former militant stronghold of North Waziristan. Bajwa said the army lost 488 security personnel since June 2014 when it launched the operation there.
  
  The military has stepped up its fight against terrorism since the Dec. 16, 2014 attack on a school in Peshawar killed nearly 150 people, mostly children.
  
  North Waziristan was once considered to be the headquarters of the Pakistani Taliban, who have been fighting to overthrow the government in Islamabad.

Operation zarb e azb in the military front has been brilliant. Truly proud of the way the army handled it. Just amazing. Don't know about the numbers but the security situation has bettered itself drastically and that is all that matters.

Remember for APS we will wipe out these godless merciless monsters forever.

Announcements were made through pamphlets dropped from air, local administration, local mosques atleast 2-3 months prior to the operation. All civilians shifted to government run IDP (internally displace persons) camps in Bannu and other areas in KPK, all of them were registered with their ID’s. They are provided food, weekly groceries, electricity, water and they are also provided monthly Rs10,000 using their cellphone sim cards plus a Rs40,000 grant to every head of family !!!

Many militants also escaped to Shawal valley, which has been cleared now, while others left for Afghanistan. Those left behind chose to fight, if by collateral damage you mean damage to houses, markets, then yes it has been done on a massive scale, but there are no civilian casualties, because civilians are not present there.

Here is a camp for IDP's in Bannu, the facilities provided to them are superior to any other run refugee camps around the world. They have sacrificed alot for Pakistan, inshAllah soon they would be returning home, just the way a significant number of tribals from South Waziristan have returned back to their homes and have constructed houses and markets with govt/military support.

Nop mate, this might be your personal opinion, infact the world is doing research papers on how Pakistan became the first country to comprehensively crush such a full fledged insurgency, how was Pakistan successful where 28 member coalition failed right across the border. The facts on ground speak for itself, terror incidents fell by 90% since operation Zarb-e-Azb started, it was necessary and its effectiveness has been acknowledged by all western countries present in Afghanistan and by many Indians themselves including your ex Foreign minister Salman Khursheed.
Yes Pakistan did create many groups in Afghanistan but we weren't alone, please never forget that Americans and the west were as much responsible as we are. Israelis themselves airlifted weapons to Pakistan to provide to these Afghan mujahideen to fight Soviets. Here are pics of Jalaludin Haqqani (head of Haqqani terror network, target of US drone strikes) and Gulbuddin Hekmatyar (head of another terror group targeted by US forces) with President Ronald Reagan in Oval Office, Washington, where he equated these Afghans to moral equivalents of George Washington and other founding fathers of United States.
