Recalling the Kargil conflict, Pakistan's former military dictator General Pervez Musharraf on Sunday said the Pakistani army "caught India by throat" and that India will never forget the war.

"There was a second line force, too, which caught India by throat and that was later given the status of army," Musharraf said, addressing a ceremony of his All Pakistan Muslim League (APML).

Musharraf, who masterminded the 1999 Kargil conflict and ruled over Pakistan for nine years, said India will always "remember the battle of Kargil", the Geo News reported.

"We entered Kargil from four points of which India was not aware," the former President said,

In May 1999, India and Pakistan, in their most serious military engagement since 1971, clashed in Kargil area of Ladakh in Jammu and Kashmir after militants backed by Pakistani troops occupied the mountain peaks of Kargil.

Speaking on the occasion, the former army chief also announced that his political party will take part in upcoming local bodies election in the country.

That's True first time I agree with Mr.Mushraff that Pakistan caught Indian off guard. But then again he never expected the Bofors ,MBRL and Mirage to use LGB and PGM and as always pakistan lost its first mover advantage and paid heavily for it.

One of the most ironic aspects of this incident was that the pakistani forces who mutilated the dead bodies of Indian soldiers, had to rely upon the Indian army to provide a decent burial for their own dead after their own nation and pakistan army disavowed them.

Makes you wonder, though, if the pakistani army can't even defend tall peaks with such a huge height advantage for the defenders what will they do in an even fight? Though we probably know the answer from khem kharan 65 and Bangladesh 1971.

First I thought ... Nawaz Sharif caught Musharraf by throat.

A Famous line at pakistan about Musharraf:

DEKHO DEKHO KON BHAGA...GIDAR BHAGA , GIDAR BHAGA.

Ah another Indian feel good thread!
Does the title sound like an Indian feel good one? Does anything in the article sound like that? It's actually meant to be a feel good thread for Pakistanis - the usual pretence that the Pak army did somethin brilliant, but politics came in the way of victory. That's the official line of the PA, and that is what Mushy is trying to pretend.

But yes, knowing the truth, it's actually a feel good thread for Indians. Any discussion about the past Indo-pak wars would end up becoming a "feel good" discussion for Indians, because of the results of those wars. That doesn't mean we can't discuss past wars, just because it embarasses Pakistanis, and make Indians feel good.

BTW, the words are from the architect of the Kargil war himself - your ex commander in chief and supreme ruler. He sure won't say things to make Indians feel good.

At last he said "WE" i.e Pakistani Regulars...not the so called freedom fighters or Jihadis!!
