Agree that zaid hamid is definitely an opportunist, not only that, he's also reckless and has a way of making enemies out of friends, reason why he was thrown in the slammer in Saudi Arabia. Disagree on the scholars, but that's just my perhaps overly cautious approach to faith. I tend to put religious scholars under a very powerful microscope watching them very carefully and view them all with a great degree of cynicism on account of all the sectarianism that has originated from them throughout history. Sorry but I just don't buy that centuries old argument that "they spent their entire lives studying Islam so who are you to question them". I can very well question them, for I have eyes and I can THINK!
That's the problem that I see. I only see words. I don't see deeds. I never saw dr israr ahmed raising orphans, I never saw him standing up for weak, I never saw him funding anything for the poor. All I saw were seminars after seminars after seminars. zh is the same way.Blind faith in anyone is never a good idea.
We judge them by their words and their deeds.

I made the disclaimer before hand that this just how I am. And besides, not like you know dr israr ahmed personally either. I'm sure his heart was in the right place, to start following someone's teachings, it'll require a LOT more than just having their heart in the right place...Don’t be so quick to disparage people you do not know.
Anyway, that’s your opinion and it is veering way off topic.

I never said he wasn't. I just did not see him as a leader who would lead by example. At best, a teacher and a very good one...but that's it.I knew him very well, brother. He was a man of God.
so, israr ahmed should have publicized his every good deed like politicians do? your definition of a good person is very flawed, if they dont show off, they arent good. That's the problem that I see. naah, you only want them to do charity and stuff like IK or other people do: in front of world media, publicly. while these people follow the teachings of the Prophet; that when their right hand gives something, their left hand shouldnt know about it.Agree that zaid hamid is definitely an opportunist, not only that, he's also reckless and has a way of making enemies out of friends, reason why he was thrown in the slammer in Saudi Arabia. IK's dharnas and other actions landed the richest, one of thet most corrupt politicians and longest serving prime minister in jail. Do you see such a struggle from Dr Israr Ahmed et al? No! Abdussatar eidhi runs the largest welfare organization in the world raised dozens of orphans as his own. How many orphans did Dr Israr Ahmed et al raise? None! See where this is going?first the chinese were involved in hacking Pakistani banks and ATMs and now this. it is because the chinese are sending in criminals to work on cpec projects as workforce, and the pakistani govt, who landed us in this trap, are idiots who do not even realize this.

I am talking about shaukat khanum, IK couldnt even raise money without media and publicity. again, your logic is flawed. according to you a person must be good if he does good and shows off about it in the public and media.IK's dharnas and other actions landed the richest, one of thet most corrupt politicians and longest serving prime minister in jail. Actions speak louder than words...unfortunately, our ulemas are all words, no actions. And then they have the nerve to God knows how, equate themselves to likes of Imam Shafi, Imam maalik and others....
no you've misinterpreted what I'm trying to say. My point is that they are all words, no actions. I didn't say that they aren't "good" people or aren't "bad" people. The definition of good and bat...now that's a debate on its own.I am talking about shaukat khanum, IK couldnt even raise money without media and publicity. again, your logic is flawed. according to you a person must be good if he does good and shows off about it in the public and media.
because they dont publicize their actions, therefore they must be hypocrites.
There are actions, they just dont publicize it. that is what you are not getting. My point is that they are all words, no actions.
