Both sides are collecting munitions and upgrading defenses and showing strength through exercises.

Formation lights. Just googled it. Used for flying in formations at night.
Really cool looking. Would love to see them on Thunder.

Those formation lights (forgetting their actual name) are unique to the Navy and Marine Corps for carrier based operations.

Those are strips to aid close formation flights at night. It also depends on the manufacturer as we as the client. Lot of aircraft have NVG compatible lightings so these are not necessary.
