In a barbaric incident, a 15-year-old mentally unstable Sikh girl was raped by two paramedics inside an ambulance in Pakistan's Punjab province on Sunday.

The girl was rescued after her parents heard her screaming from within an ambulance belonging to Punjab Emergency Services Rescue 1122.

She was rushed to a hospital, and is reportedly stable.

The perpetrators have been arrested.

After she did not return, her family complained to the police, and set out to search for her.

While they were searching, the girl's father heard her screams from within an ambulance.

On noticing the father, the rapists fled in the ambulance, and dumped the girl 2kms away.

Fact: The girl's father recounts his horror "

"We heard a girl screaming inside the ambulance. We rushed to the vehicle and found two men were assaulting our girl," the girl's father told the press, recounting the traumatic incident.

Reactions: The first such incident in Rescue 1122's 14-year history

Commenting on the incident, investigating officers told news agency PTI that an FIR had been registered against the accused, identified as Ahsan Ali and Sameen Haider.

Both were government employees working for emergency service Rescue 1122.

Rescue 1122 spokesman Muhammad Farooq said that the incident was the first-of-its-kind in Rescue 1122's 14-year history, and an internal committee had been formed to investigate the matter.

Two Rescue 1122 men arrested for ‘raping’ Sikh girl in Nankana Sahib

SHEIKHUPURA: The police arrested two personnel of Rescue 1122 on charge of raping a Sikh teenage girl at Nankana Sahib on Sunday.

According to the first information report (FIR) registered with the City Nankana Sahib police by the victim’s family, the 15-year-old girl, who was also mentally challenged, went missing. The family looked for her everywhere but found no trace.

At around 1:30am, the family members of the girl found a Rescue 1122 ambulance parked by the roadside for long time which looked suspicious. When probed further, the found both the suspects committing crime with their daughter. The police registered a case and arrested both the suspects.

Human Rights Minister Shireen Mazari also took notice of the incident and made a post on her Twitter account, saying “Abuse of vulnerable citizens will not be tolerated. Was forwarded a case of abuse of a differently-abled Sikh girl in Nankana Sahib. FIR has been registered and the SHO informed us they have arrested two persons in the case”.

That's why the disappointment for me when rape cases would take forever in India.

Absolutely glad that child rape cases in India are now being sped up and culprits are being hanged.
Few cases in MP took like 6 months and the culprits are judged to be hanged.

Speedy judgement makes a lot of difference to psyche of the society.
