Pak, Russia conduct joint naval drill in Arabian Sea
ISLAMABAD: The navies of Pakistan and Russia conducted a joint naval exercise in the Arabian Sea, the Pakistan Navy said in a statement issued on Monday.
According to the press release, the personnel of Pakistan Naval Special Operations Forces and Pakistan Maritime Security Agency conducted the joint counter-narcotics exercise with the members of Russian Federal Drug Control Service (FDCS). The exercise was held in Northern Arabian Sea.
“It is expected that this exercise will prove a stepping stone towards increasing interoperability and way forward for future exercises between Russian and Pakistan navies,” the press release from Pakistan Navy said.
“It is also believed that the visit of Russian ship Yarsolav Mudry to Karachi will usher new avenues of friendship and cooperation between our two countries in general and navies in particular,” the statement added.
