A Little Birdie Tells me that PAF/PAC skipped participating this year with JF-17s in DAS as it's gearing up to introduce JF-17 Block-3 at next year's Paris Air Show. The Block-3 is keenly awaited by several potential customers and it's maiden flight is imminent.....while some sources say it's already under trials.

One thing is for sure that PAC/PAF didn't participated in Dubai Airshow-2019 having budget constrains like already allocated amount which is saved for the Paris Airshow in June, 2020 but having said that Block-III; it is a surprise then. Although, PAC/PAF will definitely showcase JF-17 Block-III being awaited for long by many due to advance configuration/capability so the plans are going well.

Sorry Gents, but there isn't any Air Show in Paris next year (2020). Like the Dubai & Farnborough, it too takes place every 2 Years.

So basically, you mean at next years Farnborough Air Show 2020.

It's also emerged that while DAS is now a world class event, however it seems to draw more interest in a civilian charter from rich Arabs and others from around the globe. What's the purpose of UAEAF flying it's Block-60 or Mirage-2000 in the show apart from providing entertainment to the audiences.

Farnborough seems like a stretch since it's 7 Months away for a jet that hasn't (still) had its First Test Flight.

Paris Air Show is more likely in 2021.

However, I'm still puzzled as to why PAF didn't bring the JF-17B for the Dubai Air Show - at least for the Static Display (if the excuse of the Insurance was too High by the Dubai Airports Authority for Aerial Display.

I mean, they did bring the Super Mushaq after all. That aircraft has already made its mark for decades & the JF-17 Block II/II has aswell.

It's still a mystery to me why we haven't really marketed the 2-seater as it's already been flying for nearly a year with Myanmar Air Force.

simple bureaucratic red tape.. nothing more nothing less!!! We Pakistanis are always late in grabbing the opportunities...

Perhaps due to low chances of any sale whereas PAS &FAS are followed by all and sundry. Lastly the world wants to see block 3. Maybe 2021 might be a better date as the plane would have been inducted and contracts nearing signatures which can be done at PAS. JUST MY SUGGESTION.

Hi,

The 2 seater has entered service a little too late---it has effected the sale of the single seater as well as its own sale---.

Pakistan should just focus on maximizing the capabilities of the single and the twin seaters for its own use---go a to a selective few shows Farnborough - Paris - China.

We are already at least 3 years late for block 3
I think we all agree that the tech jump between block 1 and block 3 has been humungous and that too with a nascent aviation industry. As things go the timelines might not have considered the technological leap, and the testing involved. We need to consider we are piggy backing the Chinese development cycles and then comparing them with what else is available in other market and sometimes finding hybrid solutions.
In aviation industry delays are normal as problems are encountered and need rectification and re-testing. This can take time.
I would rather we have a all singing and dancing platform that comes with slight delay than a half cooked product that needs correction mid way.
