Hi,

It is funny and it is painful.

The Govt of pakistan has decided to open cases of corruption against Paf officers retroactively.

What the next important steps they need to take is to open an inquiry and and charge those who sabotaged the procurement of a potent fighter aircraft in the last 30 years---.

All dishonest and HONEST officers who FAILED to acquire the aircraft---must be equally charged with sabotaging the defense of the nation and conspiring to create a situation to give the enemy and upper hand in an air battle.

Specially the one regarding the Mirage 2000 purchase in early 90's---those who went for the second batch of F16's in the late 80's---those who refused the Rafale procurement---those who did not force upon the U S after 9/11 for the F16 immediately---those who failed to comprehend the change in U S public opinion regarding the sale of F16's---specially those who donated the Paf funds for the aircraft to the earthquake relief---.

Those who refused the procurement of the J10B's 3 years ago---.

They must all be charged with treason---all properties confiscated and they should be hanged for conspiring to weakne the defense of the nation----Pakistan Zindabad.

I told you guys a few months ago that I am going to go after the Paf---. It has started---where it is going to end up---I do not know---.

Though i understand your frustration seeing a capable airforce opting for strings attached equipment however who else should decide what equipment suits their needs and doctrine?

I read in Pakistan’s Arms Procurement and Military Buildup, 1979–99 (yes I read books) that there was a time top officials considered the Su-27 as an actual option in 1997. This was before India bought Su-30's and where only flying MiG 29's. The fighter isn't very expensive and is very versatile, this year Russia is upgrading 4 Su-27's to Su-35 standard. And don't forget China was already a large operator of the flanker which could have helped maintain a fleet. But.....no real efforts where made for a deal, even though 1997 was probably the best time.

I agree, the Mirage 2000 should have been bought it just makes sense after the Mirage 3 and 5 procurement and upgrades.

But I disagree with the J-10B, the JF-17 program was in the works and the PAF already operates a fleet of single engine multi-role F-16's.

Are you sure Rafale was even offered to Pakistan?

Not procuring on technical reasons is not a crime for e.g J-10 was declined by kaamra engineers team on the basis of Time between over haul was considered very low. Only 600 hrs of first overhaul, Mirages were also declined of soaring cost and maintenance setup flaws, only crime could be bribe for which they have to go outside of PAF to political circles specially Zardari Shb.
I remember it very clearly ACM of that time requested French to omit iff as they were charging it too high to cover the kick back amounts of mohterma.

. .
Second batch of F16; agreed, should have gone for the F15 which the PAF originally wanted to replace F6 with

Mirage2000-5? The French jacked up the price and reduced the capabilities

Su-27/30/35. Maintenance hog of a plane with iffy spares situation.

Post 9/11, the US was in no mood to sell F16. They only changed their minds when the discovered just how much tech had been transferred to us by the Italians and French.

J10. No real advantage over JF17 is terms of payload.

And in the same timeframe we have gotten

1) AWACS
2) In flight refueling
3) Advanced EW aircraft
4) ISR capability unimaginable 30 years ago
5) Datalinks
6) Stand off weapons like Ra'ad and CM400AKG
7) Ability to manufacture our own avionics

So, seriously dude?

Hi,

That is not a good enough reason to reject a potent weapons system.

Ask the Israeli how dearly they paid for the weapons in the late 40's and early 50's---.

You don't stop buying a potent weapon just because there is bribe invovled---.

And you never delay the procurement even if at a later date you find financial wrong doing---.

If you were a father and your young 1 year old daughter was dying---and the price of the medicine was 5 times the price and you could pay for it---but you refused to do so on principal---only then you can justify the refusal to make the deal.

Otherwise---please don't even try---and I am not being disrespectful---but this is what has happened. Pakistan was not treated as a mother by the Pakistan air force.

How come Su 27 came into picture ? Lol in 90s we didn't had sound relations with Russia yet. Also Russia never had offered any plane because of strong drfense relations with India. Lets not forget that Russia was earlier reluctant to provide us Rd 93 engine until China negotiated them hard. Anyways Pak Russia relations are much better now as compared to 90s.

They wanted India to Buy Su 27 ;
and IAF was confused between Mirage 2000-5 and Su 27

So they offered it to PAF and India came running back to Russia

We told them to develop the Su 27 to Su 30 and then we bought it

.
If we all look closely , This new development in its self saying many things .............. Things were not right and as per order .... That's Y , PAF wanting investigation powers .....
And I have one question too , PAF gave money to earthquake relief fund ! I like to see those Hospitals + Schools + Roads + Bridges that were build by that Money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We missed many golden opportunities , Now IAF is years ahead from PAF in quality + quantity + Technology ....... Gap is just to dam big.
JF-17 is blessing but in Current airframe it is light and small bird , which cant stay in air for long , And we want this bird to kill SU-30s ..........LMAO........
In the end : Stop saying man behind the machine , The order is "Have your Horses Ready" and horse is a dam machine .
ACM. Sohail doing great job, His idea of Aviation city is just dam to good , We are late but we are on right path . And as per other members and media speculations He is also trying for new 4.5+ heavy bird . Fingers crossed , Lets Pray for the Best.
