PAF Heroes Who Surprised India !

GIBS of S/L Hassan was ACM Haseeb paracha DCAS-OPS.

No Haseeb Paracha wasn't flying that day.

Anyways since some of you are confused about the dual seaters role, here's some info on the types with PAF.

"PAF fighters are basically designed as single-seat aircraft, but dual-seat versions are used for training. However, some special missions can only be flown in dual-seat aircraft, where the rear seat pilot performs the role of a ‘weapon systems operator.’ The Mirage IIID is such an example where the rear seat pilot guides the stand-off weapon like the H-4 bomb (released by another single-seat Mirage). In such cases both pilots of the dual-seat fighters have equal responsibility for task accomplishment. Then there are missions flown by dual-seat fighters which are no different from single-seat fighters, and the responsibility of task accomplishment is essentially that of the front-seat pilot. In such cases, the rear seat pilot (Guy In the Back Seat, or GIBS in common parlance) helps in enhancing the overall situational awareness, which is a welcome assistance, especially if available to the leader of the mission. However, it has to be noted that the mission can be accomplished without the GIBS, and he is not really a core crew member unless conducting a specialist mission."

That confirms the involvement of F16, and we were denying it. If this far things are correct, then this gives an edge to what India has been claiming.
The strike package was comprised of Thunders and Mirages. Our F-16s were covering them from within our own airspace and they had every right to shoot down the intruders.

Yes, but initial claims were that they thunders shot migs.

11 squadron at Jaccoobad. No secret in that.

S/L Hassan is currently posted as CCS instructor. No secret in that too.

Where is the breach of confidential information?
This is not suitable for personal safety of these guys. There is no need for advertising the location @MastanKhan raised a good point.

I think JF-17 thunders now can share & take assistance from Saab 2000.
may be we have now source codes, no sign of zdk-03 in whole operation

Why can't the dual seater carry the H.4 itself,I don't buy the argument that it has shorter range because it can carry 1300L drop tanks which can give it sufficient range. It's like sending 2 aircraft into harm's way when 1 aircraft can do the job.

The dual seater has a drop tank sized communications pod on the centre line station, to steer and guide the H-4. The wing stations already have drop tanks. So there is no place to carry a H-4 on a dual seater.
BTW, H-4 is a massive weapon weighing 2600 LBs.

Dear God, it's not unheard of a single pilot in a twin seater however S/L Hassan wasn't flying alone.

You don't need two pilots to fly a twin seater. A bus can be driven with a driver without any passengers on it.

As per rules of PAF,no pilot can fly a dual seater alone.

It's like mirage is carrying a small aircraft under it.

The rules must have been changed as i have seen images of Solo PAF pilot in a dual seater, anyways it makes good sense, as a seat must not be wasted. There is always some learning by being in a cockpit.

Can you post the picture?
I am not talking about K8 and T37,they are trainers so an exception.
I will need to search for it, I'm sure it was from late 80s era.

Check out the Falcon in the background.....no GIBS there.

Thanks for sharing,I'll inquire about it.Maybe the No Solo is a new rule then.

Here's what I know about current dual seater rules:

-No Solo on a dual.
-2 course mates cannot fly in same fighter.
-Same ranks can fly together but one of the pilots must be senior in terms of experience of the aircraft.
-ACM cannot fly a dual or a single seater as he is non ops.

Exceptions are always there.
