pl no news from the 'gutter' press esp on military affairs.

what people dont realize is that all manuals for chinese a/c have to be re-written in english by PAF IP's and this takes a long time to ensure that the translations are accurate. until one dosnt have these manuals it is difficult to operate and maintain these platforms. same thing is happening with the JF-17's also. these are complex machines not used cars.!!!

I had heard that PAF only uses Martin Baker ejection seats on all aircrafts including the Chinese ones with exception of F-16 that uses its own American ejection seat. Martin Baker ejection seats are very high quality and reliable though not as good as Russian K-36 ones but still best western ejection seats available out there. Pakistan already has enough manuals of F7 - no point need to wait for their translation again!

if we are flying the air crafts with a chinese ejection seats we are making a huge mistake esp when pilots are against it.life of a pilot should always be given priority.we are doing the same mistakes which IAF did with its mig pilots earning them the nick 'widow maker".

Little to do with translation, more to do with the seat..
these are simply cheap replacements for older FT-7P's but they were built to JJ-7 spec with Chinese seats and other changes.
So the PAF had to do the (P) part on these aircraft at Kamra themselves. ..which meant a complete strip down to check changes..
replacement of all wiring covers with raychem fire proof covers.. replace the seat with a Martin Baker system..
possibly replace AVTR.. etc etc.
That takes time.. and which is why these aircraft are flight ready after a year.

Well there is no compulsion to put them under stress if they can afford to be safer

You should read about the nightmares PAF had with the original F-6s. Apart from all else, the standard seats had a bold warning written on them." Not Guaranteed below 90 MPH." !!

These aircraft were delivered by Chinese pilots in June/July. F-7PG squadrons will be their recipient

Better to get something else like SAM batteries or UAVs for free. But most likely some assistance in training would be better.
