Overseas Pakistanis to pay tax on all their mobile phones

I think this is because people started doing corruption even in this rule. They were using the passport number from people who were coming from Umrah to register mobiles from aboard for profit.

doesn't work like that bro.....when you buy a phone in the UK you can get a VAT receipt but not a tax receipt. but tax is inclusive. so how will u show in pakistan the tax has been paid

Why wait for them to come home?

You know... Pakistani passport is among most expensive in the world to renew... i think they charge EUR50.- at consulate in Frankfurt and the cover, where all of your data is printed, is rubbish.
If you book an air ticket and check its cost break down , airport tax is as high as $400.- for economy return ticket, but they can't clean the litter from the premises. How much one can feel comfortable flying with airline operated by such corrupt system!
On his first dinner, overseas Pakistan contract diarrhea and starts visits of doctor, but fake medicine never works.
so over all, every overseas Pakistan contribute $2500.- to $5000.- as minimum to the national exchequer/visit. I guess daily 5000 overseas Pakistanis visit Pakistan, so on average if they leak $3000 during their 10 days trip. The amount touches $15 million daily x 365= $5.5 billion annually.
This is besides the quarterly billions Pakistan win from remittances.
It gives a hint, about Pakistan's economic circle and why being a finance and tax manager of Pakistan is of international interest.

Sorry i was busy defending national language of Pakistan on the forum.

I have renewed my Passport twice here in Germany. The amount may be termed as excessive but this is the least of my concern as data is being sold and fake passports are being given to people already on asylum in Germany.

If i get banned, you know know why.

What receipt ? I did not understand what you are talking about. we are talking about expats who purchase mobile in country of their residence and pay all taxes and duty over there as per value of mobile phone. Why they should pay it again when travel to another country ?

Pakistan left it for custom officer to decide the value of phone so he can ask you to pay minimum amount for most expensive phone and vice vera if you give him bribe
